The Fish Gets a Haircut

Luke LOVES the water. Seriously, I cannot believe his fearlessness when it comes to splashing around in the water. I am thankful because his Daddy is a boat and kayak lover and I am already envisioning the two of them spending endless Florida Saturdays on the water. When Luke and I were at Ima and Sheshy's house we went to the pool and I am pretty sure he would have stayed all night...babypool, big pool...it didn't matter. Then yesterday L and I took him to our local pool and he just had a blast! He splashed, he made his rounds around the pool by holding on to the side, he played with some toys, and he dunked his own head (laughing with delight afterwards) a couple of times. High on our Florida priority list is to join a pool!

In unrelated news Luke got his first haircut. He was starting to sport a mullet and not that there is anything wrong with a mullet (okay, there are about 33 things wrong with a mullet) but it just wasn't his style. So after his bath I tried my very best to channel Tabitha Coffey and give him a stylish cut. I am pretty proud of my work although I assume there is a learning curve to get the best results from a squirming kid. Sidenote: the following photos are all pre-haircut.
"Yeah, it is cold but I don't care!"
So happy!!
Completely soaked and loving every minute of it! This face is followed by squeals and laughter!
"Ima and Sheshy...can you bring me here every time I come to visit?!"
"Daddy, I found one of those totally awesome vents where the water comes out! You gotta feel this!"
Luke is telling us a story (seriously, he chattered for probably 5 minutes straight) about either: 1. how tall he needs to be to go in the big boy pool alone or 2. the size of the fish he intends to catch when he can reel in his own line!
"Hey camera lady, I mean Mom, come help me pick a toy so I can go back in the water."

"Only 5 more minutes?!?! Why?" (This face is a sign of things to come...I can only imagine the fits that will be thrown when we have to leave the pool).
