A Cabin in the Woods

It is HOT here in the summer!  I'm talkin' HHHOOOTTT!  A friend of mine said that she and her family try to escape to the mountains each summer to get out of the sweltering heat and humidity and into some fresh and at times brisk air.  Sign me up!  We found a great little place in NC that fit the bill...a cabin in the woods.  It was an awesome weekend and I think it will become a summer tradition.  We headed north at the end of July and we brought Riggs!  We lived the cabin life and it fits us VERY well!  We picked blackberries for breakfast, hiked to waterfall after waterfall, swam in a freezing cold river (L and Luke did...Riggs and I did not), made leaf boats to race in the cabin-side creek, hiked Chimney Rock, got filthy, ate competition barbeque, grilled gigantic burgers, checked out an Indian reservation, and unplugged.  It was fantastic and we will be back!
