Our Growing Family - Introducing Buddha!!!

At least this family addition is real!!  Welcome to the Tully family, Buddha, or as we sometimes say, Tiny Buddha.
Here is the back story:
I had a glorious weekend in HH with some truly wonderful friends!  We were all sans kids and ready to chat and laugh our way through a beach weekend in HH paradise!  We had a great time and got to do quite a bit in the short time we were there.  I miss these girls terribly and it just meant the world to me that they would drive their pretty little selves from FL to come hang out with me in SC (thanks Mom and Dad for the accomodations and thanks to all the husbands for loving Daddy Duty).  It was wonderful and it made my heart smile to be with them and to know that even though I am far away our friendships work and will continue to grow.  I love you ladies!!
Anyway, back to Buddha.  Luke's 3rd birthday is coming up and the girls were asking for my suggestions as to what Luke is into.  There really is no need to get him anything but they insisted.  So I explained that we can't go through a single day without talks of robots, sea creatures of any kind, and a session of "school" (i.e Luke "reading" books) with his stuffed animals.  These are the current fads: robots, sea creatures, and books.  So...sweet JC (not to be confused with THE JC...ha!) found some perfect books - one about horseshoe crabs (hello perfection) and one about whales.  Sold!  AC came across these little figures (Luke is into anything small that he can shove into cars, trucks, etc.) of a coral reef environment....clownfish, coral, puffer fish, and even a little scuba diver.  So stinkin' cute and I can already picture his bathtime love of these guys!  Then there is LR.  She wandered around lots of shops, idly gazing and touching some cute stuffed animals, games, books, etc.  Nothing struck her fancy.   I did hear her mumble at some point; "I just want to find the perfect gift."  Well, about three stores later the perfect gift was found.  A gift that needs permission, a gift that is crazy and ridiculous and hilarious and oh so very perfect for Luke!  Boy oh boy does she know that kid!  So after we grilled the salesman with a million and two questions (LR's questions were normal and appropriate, my questions were not normal or appropriate) we walked out with our new hermit crab!
Obviously I couldn't keep a hermit crab hidden until Luke's actual birthday so we (WE - no I didn't get L's permission before the hermit crab purchase but I did convince him pretty immediately that it was a genius gift and he best get on the hermit crab train) waiting patiently until Luke woke up from his nap for the big presentation.  Luke went nutso!!  Full on shaking with excitement and chatter and some girlish screaming.  Once he calmed down we went over the ground rules:  no touching the claws, no racing Buddha down the car ramp, no taking Buddha on walks, and Buddha is not allowed in the bathtub.   Luke thought hard about the name...he actually wanted our opinions but we said that is was a great birthday gift from Chloe and she wanted Luke to name him ("him" is used very loosely...we have no idea about the gender).  Luke proclaimed that he was to be called Buddha!  He elaborated by saying "Chloe has a big Buddha and I have a tiny Buddha."  (Buddha is their family dog).  Such perfection that I can barely stand it!

Buddha is fantastic, fun, laughter inducing, and curious little fella.  We adore him!  Thank you to Chloe and LR...we love you even more!!
