Well, I figure you are just dying to know about how I spent the Mother's Day weekend. It was fantastic!! Here is how it went:
- Friday morning/afternoon = Luke discovered that due to the recent rain our yard has become populated with Cuban Tree Frogs. "Populated" is not the right word, it is more like "INUNDATED!" Soooo many frogs, when we walk it looks like the ground is moving as these tiny creatures try to escape the soles of our shoes. Needless to say, Luke was inside to take his nap...that's it...outside the other 11 hours of his day. Luke is not gentle, the death toll of these frogs has reached well into the double digits.
"See Mommy? It's a frog! My hold it."
"I pet this frog."
"It's on my skin Mommy, okay?!"
- Friday evening = Naan pizza (homemade pizza on naan bread) and a dance party! What? That isn't what everyone does on a Friday night? Huh?!
- Saturday morning = doctor's appointment - boo! But I did treat myself to an everything bagel, toasted, with cream cheese. Perhaps my absolute favorite breakfast.
- Saturday evening = Team Tully hosted a potluck picnic. We had so much fun! The weather was super fantastic and the company simply divine. The kids had a great time in what my friend M called "a little boy's paradise of a backyard!" The kids were running and filthy and laughing and the parents were sitting and marveling and laughing...does life get better than that?
M pushing Luke around and Luke loving every minute of it. MD is next in line. :)
I would like to think this is Luke being so intelligent at the age of 22 months that he put this laundry basket over his head to appear bigger to his baskeball opponent. What? Too much?
I have no explanation for this one and it looks like J is not buying the costume.
Me, J, Luke, and the kid magnet, Riggs.

Nice ride N! I agree with Luke, the cement was looking a little long, I am glad he decided to trim it. :)
Ring around the Rosie. As you can see, the ladies wanted no part in these shananigans!
- Sunday morning = Luke woke up and when prompted ever so slightly by Daddy exclaimed "HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY DADDY!" Hahahahaha! I love him! We spent the morning at the park. We played at the playground, fed the ducks, took a walk, and splashed in the water. Heaven on Earth.
Feeding the dinosaur. "He hungry! He likes mulch."
"Mommy, you drive!"
This is all it takes to make my Mother's Day complete!! Just look at that face. I love him!!!
- Sunday afternoon = Luke took a 3 hour nap!?! I read some of a book that I am loving. I took Riggs for a looooooong walk - so long we even had to stop in the shade to take a break and watch the skydivers jump. I forgot who I was with because I asked what colors he saw in the parachutes....occupational hazard. I shut my peepers for 20 minutes and I watched part of a TBS Sunday afternoon movie. I can't tell you the last time that has happened. The movie was Along Came Polly. Not great but I will take it.
- Sunday evening = Date night with my love. We went downtown- not downtown little town - but downtown big city! We ate at a delicious steakhouse and that is pretty much all we ate - steak. We shared some portabello mushrooms and a salad and then the steaks. Oh the steaks! Yum. And what does every happily married couple follow a delicious and romantic steak meal with....yep...TARGET. A Target trip without Luke is like getting nearly an entire oreo in your cookies and cream ice cream. So good.
I had a wonderful wonderful weekend and I love my family so very very much!!
