It Could Have Been Really Bad

So, L is on his way home from California today and THANK GOODNESS!  Holy moly, Luke and I have missed him terribly.  I feel like I always notice more about Luke when L isn't here...I just don't want him to miss anything so I make mental notes (okay and because I am ridiculous I also write them down) of all the new things that Luke does or says.  Are we first time parents or what?!  For example, Luke is now using articles in his sentences, like "a" and "the"...may not be interesting to most but L is gonna freak!!!

Luke asked for Daddy about 13,000 times on Monday but each day after the requests got fewer and fewer which I think is a good thing.  Although, every single night after he is out of the bath he requests Daddy for bedtime.  "Books, Daddy."  "Please Mommy, Daddy books."  Ugh, it broke my heart for 4 nights straight, Daddy is in for a lot of book time tonight...I am sure he is not going to mind a bit!  This little guy loves his Daddy!

We both miss L horribly when he is gone but I just wanted to give a shout out to all of my friends here who have made my husband-less week so much  more bearable and fun!  They checked in on me nightly, they called from the grocery store to see if we needed anything, they brought their kids and dogs over to play with Luke and Riggs, and they came over for a dinner date.  So much fun! We certainly were busy and that made the days go by so much faster.  Luke and I both slept well (which is very rare for both of us when L is out of town) and we are well rested to welcome L with open arms and lots of weekend plans!  We are certainly blessed.
