April

April is home to public school spring break, registration weeks on campus, final exam preparations on campus, warm but not hot weather, endless time outside, lots of events near and far, and time with our people.

L and Luke started the month with an insane physical adventure!  They ran, they climbed, they waded through massive muddy ponds, they crawled, they pushed, they pulled, they carried, they had a BLAST! It was challenging and fun...a great combo!  And their team got 1st place!!

Why?  Why is this a good time?!  HA!

Cleaned up and off to a fun show to celebrate Ima and Sheshy's birthdays!  We hosted them for a weekend and took them to see a high school performance of Mamma Mia and then the next night, the main event.....

A Neil Diamond tribute!  So fun!  I grew up listening to Neil Diamond on every single road trip from PA to HH.  Such great memories, such great songs!

Luke was the youngest person there by a solid 30 years! Love Does.

Sunday morning runs...I look forward to my time with these people.

Luke's spring break fell on registration week for me and unfortunately that means I can't take time off.  Luke was very much okay with a staycation.  He got lots of rest....

He and I did find time to hit the driving range!  So fun!

We made it to a baseball game

We celebrated Easter (as always, thanks to G and P for making Luke's Easter basket extra fun!)

We hiked in our local forest

He spent lots of time with friends!  Believe it or not I got permission to post this photo.  These boys (aka "my three sons") are simply the best.  Minecraft used to be such a big part of their world and although they rarely play anymore they had a pilgrimage to Walmart for Minecraft t-shirts (Jed and Luke had to get kid sizes and the arms didn't fit hence the tanks. Ha.) and created these amazing outfits to go see the Minecraft movie.

He spent time on the lake with friends and did LOTS of fishing!

Luke came home and said he caught close to 25 fish.  I asked if Jed caught any and he sent me this photo and said, "yeah, he caught one."  These kids crack me up!

I don't have any photos but Luke also spent a bit of his spring break in Atlanta at a Pokémon tournament.  He did well and is New Orleans bound in June.

I love this picture.  First of all we had a TON of rain at the end of April leading into May.  Secondly I feel like that top bird all throughout May.  Just trying to keep my kid and my husband and myself together - balancing all of the needs and wants and transitions and activities and deadlines...it is a precarious month.
