We rounded out July with the most epic vacation...a full family cruise to Haiti and the Bahamas to celebrate Ima and Sheshy and their 50th wedding anniversary!! Their wish was to have all of us together in beautiful places living the cruise life! It was FANTASTIC! We all loved it so so much! We got to spend quality time with each other, the kids had a blast, the weather was perfect, and that time together was the greatest gift of all! 50 years! My parents are a true testament to what love looks like, what a marriage looks like, what a true partnership looks like. They respect each other, honor each other, support each other, value each other, and love each other so very very much! Thank you for this cruise, these memories, this LOVE!
The big kids jumped their hearts out on these massive trampolines that send them up to get some of the greatest views on the ship!
I cannot tell you how much I LOVE this photo! These two are the greatest! The BEST dad and the BEST husband! How did I get so lucky?!?!?!!
You and Me
Pre-cruise each of the 5 grandkids made their own representation of the number 50 to decorate Ima and Sheshy's cruise door. Evelyn and I did a secret mission to hang it all up and I just love it. The artwork matches each kiddo's personality so well. We love you Mom and Dad!
Just look at this trio. Love it!
Cruise ship mini golf with Sheshy! Just the greatest!
The ultimate golf foursome!
Evelyn is not shy with her love and affection...such a sweetheart! L is soaking it up!
The wind was a factor in this not being a hole in one!
Ha! These two taking the reconnaissance walk around the buffet to scout out the best food finds. Followed by in depth discussions and ratings of their choices.
Haiti! A beautiful country full of beautiful people. Mit led an impromptu marine biology/ecology lesson on the beach and the Haitian lifeguard joined in.
Check out this lunch view in Haiti
Simply gorgeous
These two! Luke had the idea to have a bit of a game/challenge for he and Jeffrey. Luke purchased a collared/buttoned down shirt for J and Jeffrey purchased a collared/buttoned down shirt for Luke. They kept their purchases a secret until dinner time one night on the cruise. This is the result! A flying cat taco shirt from Jeffrey to Luke and a galactic llama riding a donut from Luke to Jeffrey. HILARIOUS!
So many shuffleboard games!
How about this view for card games with Ima?! Pretty awesome!
In the Bahamas (Coco Cay) these three were gifted waterpark passes from Ima and Shesh. That waterslide behind them is the tallest in North America. They LOVED it!
Trivia! In this case, Disney trivia so obviously Daney and James took the reigns. Silver medalists. Daney, L, and Molly led our family in the 90s music trivia contest for another silver medal (they actually give out medals), and the same adult crew (Molly, Daney, and L) plus Jeffrey, Luke, and Hallie did great in the Harry Potter trivia contest.
Full family napkin folding lessons! Hilarious! Ima was superior and to be honest everyone got really into it! Ha! Mit was surprisingly good at it!
The older kids took their new napkin knowledge and folded their napkins each night at dinner.
Proud of these kids and their table manners!
Our Haiti arrival at sunrise
A whole family of shuffleboard enthusiasts!
The big kids are at the waterpark and Ima is behind the camera but here we all are in the beautiful Caribbean ocean! Wait, actually we are all watching L on his way to deeper water snorkeling. He was face down and snorkel up most of the day! L, James, and I ventured out to deep water to check out a sunken ship to see some pretty cool tropical fish and HUGE sting rays. So awesome! It was a perfect day at Coco Cay!
Arrival at Coco Cay and Hallie pointed to the tallest waterslide in North America that is she is moments away from conquering! Love these adventurous kids!
Terrible picture but let it be known that I got third place (I am showing off my bronze medal to those who weren't in attendance) out of about 80 participants in a corn hole competition. #IMissedMyCalling
The Sunderlins
The Tullys
The Sides
I love this picture! Beautiful people in a beautiful place!
L and I and the three older kids scurried up and down the rock wall on the ship a few times. I wasn't completely terrible at it. The kids are so fast!!! We had lots of fun.
So much family fun!
Jasper and Belle - a perfect match
This dog. Day one of our return....Jasper cannot get close enough. Geez!
So, there you have it! A July FULL of travel and fun and people and places and memories. We are always incredibly thankful for the people and places in our lives and we are very aware of just how lucky we are to be surrounded by such a loving family. Travel and experiences continue to fuel us and we look forward to our next adventure.
