What a crazy and still and wonderful 6 months it has been! School has started. It is different. It is okay. We are finding our way and are so thankful for the teachers that are working their tails off to make this work, to make it fun, to make it productive, to make it successful. The first day of school came much later than usual so we had more time to squeeze in some summer favorites!
We celebrated Jasper's "Gotcha Day" with dog shaped cookies that Ima and Luke made. Gosh we love this dog...his endless quirks and all!
From trash to treasure! Ima and Luke (mostly Ima) worked on this aluminum chair frame we found in our neighborhood and created a gorgeous "new" chair with a blue background and white weaving including a fish design. Blogger won't load the finished photo but I will get it on here somehow! Amazing!
Many of my days are filled with dog sitting, dog walking, and dog visits these days. I call my latest client the pandemic puppies! A few of our neighbors got dogs during the pandemic and now that school is back (kind of) in session I have picked up quite a few dog gigs. This is Molly.
The three amigos on yet another fishing adventure
More bread...I can't stop.
Luke requested to build himself a fishing nook in the garage...inspired by Sheshy's fishing space in his garage. He did the measuring, drew the plans, and did most of the installing himself.
Facetiming with Shesh. Lures and hooks and line weight...a foreign language to me.
I took my three sons to a new fishing spot. We didn't have a ton of luck but we did have a ton of fun!
Lunch lakeside. You can't beat it!
While visiting one my favorite dog clients (Molly---different Molly than above) I spotted this gorgeous guy
Daney and Evelyn came to visit! We had so much fun and Evelyn could not get enough of Luke!
Knox. Our next door neighbor and our pal 4 days a week!
Luke's idea..."I'm going to pull Evelyn around in the basket!" She LOVED every minute of it!
Another bookworm in the family.
Knox, Jasper, and Luke lounging on a summer afternoon. The good life.
We spent a Sunday wading through the creek from one end of our neighborhood to the other. Only one snake sighting
I turned 41. My friend Steph joined me on a trail hike/run. She told me it was the perfect birthday gift for me...outside and free...two of my favorite things! Ha! She's not wrong!
September 8th. First day of Sixth Grade! Yikes! Luke is going to school virtually for the time being. Our district had two options...a hybrid option (in person 2 days a week and distance learning 3 days a week) or virtual. We chose virtual. It is okay. It is fine. He is doing well. It is certainly not ideal but he has had a good attitude about it and things are becoming more routine.
Dusty. Our beagle buddy
These two live for walks!!
L and Luke have fully immersed themselves in the game of Magic lately. They have long conversations about cards and strategies and countless battles at the dining room table. L could not be more excited that Luke has embraced this game! My two very favorite nerds!! Love
Luke's classroom.
My fellas on the first day of school...here's to new beginnings, new seasons, and new perspectives!
Happy Fall Y'all!!
