Oh, October!!

So, October, December, and May have got to be the three busiest months of the year.  Hands down.  October seems to be the kick off to fall (even though it is still in the 80s here!).  As Melanie says though, southerners look at the calendar, not the forecast for fall.  So here we are, well into fall and October has flown by!  Family, friends, wandering, festivals, Halloween...October sure does pack a punch.  We loved it all and we made the most of it!

Team Tully was VERY prompt in our Halloween decorating!  October 1st and this gem was gracing our front yard!

Jasper is a constant presence each morning while Luke gets ready for school...a hindering presence but a presence nonetheless.

Ha!  The faces!

Luke and I headed to HH while L was traveling.  Jasper met a new friend..Charlie.  Charlie is gigantic.

Fishing with the Shesh.  Luke's current obsession!

Followed by time at the golf simulator.  He was telling his golf coach all about it the next week at practice.  Very fancy!

These two!  Ha!  It is my new thing to see if Luke wants to bring a friend with us on weekend errands.  It is kind of a riot.  We do normal errand things...this trip was the bank, Costco, and this sportsman store where I had a gift card to use.  Crazy kids!

Luke and J.  Luke is putting together a tackle box for J and J is????

A Sunday morning find...a preying mantis.  So cool!

Weekend lunch in the tent...why not?!

Another trip to HH, this time with L so he could run in a race and so we could help Ima and Sheshy out with their European travel.  Pine Island at low tide...other worldly!

This photo cracks me up!  Luke went fishing with Shesh while Ima and I shopped and L was working from the HH house.  Luke caught that massive flounder and they brought it home to cook for dinner (it was delicious!!).  Anyway, they wanted to show it to L without "bothering" him so they snuck behind the bushes and just held it up in the window.  It was so funny!!

The best bedtime story reader around, plus she got out all her Halloween/witch books!

More fishing!

A beach loving dog!

Apparently that crab was holding on tight!

Even L got in on the fishing luck.

A rainy after school meeting of the minds.  Please note...the blue and white umbrella in the back belongs to and is being used by our 81 year old neighbor, Mr. Ben!  The kids decided to have a yard sale on this beautiful day (HA!) and Mr. Ben ordered some Lego creations.  He came over to watch the building and to hang out with the kids.  81 years old.  Pouring down rain.  Huddled in the umbrella fort with 4 kids.  Such a sweet man.  Priceless!

His Wednesday chores didn't get done on Wednesday so this is a Thursday morning make up session.

Granny and Papaw came to visit!  Hooray!! It was so great to have them here and to welcome them into the craziness of the Team Tully life.  We had a great time!

Pumpkin carving!  Papaw was a pro!

Granny on the other hand was disgusted with the pumpkin goo but what a trooper to give it a whirl!  We enjoyed our time with them and L got to show them his second home and the community that he is such a big part of.  It was a joy!

Hard to see but that is Luke and his finished product that he did completely by himself!

Our masterpieces!

So, Luke got invited to his BFFs birthday party.  This kid had a reptile expert come to his house with 8 different snakes, some lizards, and a raccoon.  The party goers (there were only 5) got to spend lots and lots of time up close and personal with the creatures.  Pretty much a third grade boy's dream party!  Luke had a blast!!!  And thanks to K for sending along these awesome pictures!

Halloween!  One of Luke's favorite holidays!  Up until this year he has been more about the candy collection than the dressing up but this year he was SUPER excited to dress up and become.....

HARRY POTTER!!!

Luke loves the Harry Potter books and he was set on being Harry Potter for Halloween way back in September.  Can you believe that?  For those of you who know Luke know that I usually have to set a deadline for a final decision because he changes his mind so often.  But not this time!  Ima was our  expert seamstress and created the awesome scarf, emblem, and robe.  The wand was made specifically for him and he rocked the glasses and scar.  Adorable.   My very favorite Harry Potter!
J as a hippie and J as a cub scout!  Wild boys!

The loot! Let the dividing and trading begin. :-)

Out of order but this outdoor loving, beach combing, nature obsessed, tree climbing kid is the best!
