L turned 40!!!!
L hit that birthday milestone with grace and fun and good humor! I told Luke that Daddy was going to be 40 and that that is a special birthday. Bless his little logical and literal heart because when I said that forty is a special birthday he replied with "why?" Good question buddy, good question. I didn't have a direct answer for him..society says it's a big birthday? It is the beginning of a new decade? I don't know. But we celebrated all weekend and I think L entered 40 with a smile on his face!
L's gift to himself...running a half marathon!!
Luke and I went to support him and I was the vocal supporter (shocking, I know) and Luke was the adorable and silent supporter.

We went out for a protein packed birthday dinner after the race to celebrate! Happy Birthday, L! We love you!
Putting the kids to work decorating our driveway with lots and lots of "40s"! :-)
On his actual birthday we kept things simple with chicken wings and a tray of homemade brownies. Luke and I made cards and got him some little gifts. We loved celebrating our very favorite guy!
