A new tradition has started!!! Birthday TIME! My birthday is in September and Lisa's is in November. We have decided that friend TIME is what we want most. So no more gifts...a day trip or, in this case, a weekend trip away...just us and TIME! It was so awesome and needed and fun. Love this lady! We can be classy and....
... we can be ridiculous! An unlocked party favor closet inside the ladies room - Winning!
Sunday family strolls with this guy!
Random after school activity...the self-proclaimed "Caterpillar Crew". Ha!
An earned sleepover!! Luke worked hard to earn this fun reward and the boys had a BLAST! It was a bit of work for me but I loved it! I think I had just as much fun as them. Memories! Pizza and a movie..with friends :-)
Tie dye t-shirts! They loved this!
A scavenger hunt to get dessert
Nighttime bowling in the backyard. Hilarious!
They actually slept just like that and they were asleep before midnight and not up until 7. I thought that was relatively good??! It was difficult to keep Jasper away from them in the morning. He wanted desperately to be their alarm clock.
Sporting their masterpieces!
The next day we headed to see Melanie! Hooray! She treated us to an amazing tour of the brand spankin' new science building where she works. We hung our in her office, her labs, and the classrooms. So great! It is always nice to have a visual where someone works and lives. She let Luke pretty much have free rein. He is testing water temperature with a laser!

Me and Melanie - a 19 year friendship! Love her!
Hiking in the cold and rain...no big deal for this crew! Luke thinks Melanie is hilarious and he says "she has a really cool job!"
The neighborhood gang on their way to the creek to do some fishing. Hilarious! Thoughts of Huckleberry Finn kept running through my head!
Luke with the fishing pole, J with the net, and little J on the harmonica.
Childhood memories - priceless
A day long dog playdate. Also hilarious!
Team Tully kicked off the holiday season with a race through the Christmas lights at one of our local parks! A fun 4 mile race in the dark with Christmas light displays and Christmas music along the way. It was so much fun! Luke earned 2nd place in his age group!! Such a cool experience.
We then headed to WV for a family Thanksgiving. It was a short trip but an awesome one! We filled it by getting G and P all ready for Christmas. Here are Luke and P setting up the Christmas tree.
Luke and I put all the lights and ornaments on and then Luke and G finished the job with presents galore!
WV classics - rolling tires down the hill and smashing junk. Luke was in heaven and Pete was, as always, the best cousin!
Wandering in the WV woods
G and P got Luke the game Headbanz so we took that out to play. It was hilarious and G and Uncle K and Pete were great sports in playing! I think Uncle K won?
These two...waiting their turn
Another WV classic...the campfire! We roasted hot dogs, and bacon (delicious!), and smore's. A great way to round out our trip.
A beautiful sunset in a beautiful state! Thankful!
P's birthday was the day before Thanksgiving so as per tradition G put candles in the turkey and we sang Happy Birthday before digging in! Too funny! It was great to see Uncle R and Aunt M too and we were so thankful to catch up with everyone! Our little family of three also stopped on the way to spend a few hours of our Thanksgiving Day at a homeless mission. We got to serve others and in turn our hearts were full. Win - Win. We try to tell Luke...if you can help you should help. So we did.
Meanwhile, Jasper spent Thanksgiving with his cousin Maddie enjoying the lakeside life! Thank you I and S and Daney and J for keeping our furry child!
Back home and making snowflakes...it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
Holiday Love from Us to You!
