Once in a Lifetime - Solar Eclipse and Third Grade

We were so very excited for the solar eclipse!  It had been on the calendar since LAST October!  I talked to anybody and everybody who would listen about how excited Team Tully was to see the solar eclipse and be in the direct path of totality!!  Amazing and perhaps a once in a lifetime experience!  We were so excited and had fingers and toes crossed that it would not be cloudy and that the southern August heat would grant us some mercy.  Well folks, it was CLEAR, it was NOT 10,000 degrees, and we got to see the TOTAL solar eclipse in all its glory! I  will never forget it and I am hopeful that Luke and his 8 year old memory will never forget it either.  It gave us all goosebumps and it was a 3 hour long marvel with 2 minutes and 30 seconds of wonder and amazement and awe!  It was INCREDIBLE!

We dined on SUNchips, MOONpies, and EARTHworms.  In the scientific order of course!

We celebrated with Melanie! Gosh its nice to be living close to each other again!

Amazed!

We were so fortunate to simply head to our driveway for the viewing....no traveling, no traffic, no money spent.

Meanwhile, in HH!  Ha!!!!  This picture cracks me up

Totality!  It was so incredible!!  So dark. The streetlights came on.  The bugs and the birds were confused.  Eerie but in the most fantastic way!

An amazing celestial day!!

2 DAYS LATER.....

Here he is!  Our third grader!  Unbelievable!
When he grows up he would like to be an Entomologist.  (no one is surprised by this)

LOVE this kid!!!
