Summer of Silence

Here I am .  8pm on a Tuesday night.  My son fast asleep with Ellie and tonight's chosen animal, the wooly mammoth. Here I am and there he is on the eve of the first day of school.  First grade.  My son is in first grade.  Wow.  There it is...the mighty English word that can carry this much weight.  Wow.

I have spent my summer in silence...social media silence. I even turned my phone on silent most days. It has been amazing.  I have not missed it.  Our summer has been full.  Full of fun, adventures, excitement, first times, traditions, decisions, smiles, tears, laughter, change, travel, books, creations, time, slowness, awareness, family, friends, tasks, treasures, nature, mindfulness, and silence.  A good summer.  A present summer.  A needed summer.

My technology vacation even meant less pictures but, not to worry, I certainly took some!  As the school year begins I am hopeful to find time to fill in the blanks, to remember the moments, and to document our family living this beautiful life the best we can.  Stay tuned....
