The Pre-Halloween buzz is upon us! Costume parties, fall festivals, pumpkin carving, and the annual pig pickin'! We are loving life and staying busy. We have also found plenty of time for friends and adventures and the simple things!
An afternoon of volcanic goodness! Luke even made that volcano mold. So cool!
One of my very favorite things is to be able to help out in Luke's classroom. I adore this age and he and his classmates make me smile every single time I volunteer. It is so great to see them all "in action" and filling their minds...or in this case, having a party!!
Our attempt at a mousetrap car. Not as successful as we wished but still a good lesson in physics for all of us. :-)
Luke is very interested in building things. He wants to be able to take on a project from beginning to end. I have set up a "Luke building bin" in the garage with materials that he may use to create whatever he wants (basically usable items that would otherwise be recycled). We have gone over tool safety and so far he has "made" a bird feeder, a rocket, and a car. Love the creativity!
Indoor camping weekend!
Oven smores! My first time making these but definitely not the last!
A visit with the ladies! :-) (Luke is not bruised...just facepaint!)
The beginning lesson of the afterschool series of simple machines! Our neighbor and Luke have discovered pulleys, inclined planes, and screws so far. I am loving the mini-lessons I get to teach.
Neighborhood Lego session.
Adventures along the trail!
A pumpkin carving party! So much fun!
Notice as time goes on the number of children dwindle and the adults take over. Ha!
The pumpkin carving crew!
The finished products!
Beautiful weather means afterschool time spent outside! We took a break from our backyard and headed to the park where we pretended to be on the beach and built sand jack-o-lanterns and spiders.
Me: Luke are you ready to go?
Luke: Yes, just let me finish up this habitat I'm building.
More fall goodness to come! I hope this season is bringing just as many smiles to you as it is to us!
