Fantastic Fall!

We absolutely LOVE this time of year!  The weather, the activities, the change.  Such wonderful days full of wonderful experiences, people, and memory making moments.  The ordinary is most certainly extraordinary!

After school time is spent outside adventuring and exploring.  Bird watching at its best!

Kindergarten Nursery Rhyme parade.

Apple picking with Aunt Daney!

While Luke and Aunt Daney were uncovering arrowheads, L and I ventured on a 24 mile bike ride!  I am sure I was better equipped to handle a 24 mile ride when I was actually 24 but we try to celebrate our birthdays with a trip or experience and it was so fun and such a beautiful trail!  A perfect way to spend the day together!  Thanks, Daney!

Luke loves the show "Chopped".  So I decided to recreate that show for him in our kitchen.  It was one of my favorite things that we have ever done together.  There were three rounds:  afterschool snack, dinner entrée, and dessert.  Mystery ingredient baskets and all!  I let him have free reign and I want to tell you that absolutely everything was edible!  :-)  He did such a great job and it was so awesome to see his creativity and interest in creating something for our family.  Yum!  I'm tellin'  you ....what he came up with for the kale was absolutely delicious and will be making its way into our dinner rotation.  I love Chef Luke!

So proud!  And he has been my sous chef pretty much every night since!

October always seems to be such a busy month!  So many things to do, places to go, and most importantly...people to see!  We spent last weekend with very important and loving and kind and generous people!  Aunt Ellie and Bob!!  Oh how we love them!  We hadn't seen them in over a year and Aunt Ellie was very much a part of my childhood and a big part of my Hilton Head history.  She was present at all the major holidays and big happenings in my life and she is one of my favorite people!  She is caring and funny and generous and genuine.  I love her and Bob and I often wish that she wasn't dealt that hand she was dealt but she is LIVING life with a positive and graceful heart and I applaud her for this and am inspired by it.  Our weekend in HH was full of love and laughter and life.  We had a great time!

Ima and Sheshy joined a boat club and it is my new favorite way to spend time!  Nothing like a brisk morning on the water!

The men searching for the best fishing spot!

Luke caught the very first fish of the morning.

L's catch.  We had it for lunch...delicious!

This kid!!!!!!!

Bob also added a fish or two to our lunch menu!
Me and my nautical sidekick!

Oh captain, my captain!

Driving :-)

These two have a very special bond...priceless!

Luke and Aunt Ellie discussing their boating adventure.

Two beautiful people in a beautiful place!  Love you!!
