Weekend Love

Weekends.  A new thing.  Well, not a new thing calendar wise but a new thing life wise.  We are well into the school year now and although I love the routine that the weekdays bring I do miss the spontaneous trip to the zoo on a Tuesday or a stopping by the mall play area just because.  My weekday freedom with Luke is minimal these days.  Instead we have homework time, reading time, outside time, dinner time, bath time, bed time.  Everything is relegated to a time.  Then there are the WEEKENDS!  Hallelujah!  The clock takes a backseat and we are just present, we can just BE.  Ahhh...I love it!  We have had adventures and we have had lazy days but the weekends are such a welcome break to life's routines and we are thankful!  Welcome to the weekends!  (oh, and Halloween).

This happens on a weekend.  Love this mutt more than words!

We finally found time to camp!  We found the most perfect location and it is FREE (and legal).  I know I have said it before...we LOVE to camp!!  It does require extreme packing and gear but I would do it daily if it meant being in these beautiful places with my very favorite people.  Camping is connection and we love it.

Our view while eating dinner...Perfection.

So much fun!  Thanks, Daney for the idea.  A Saturday afternoon with power tools = one happy kiddo!

"Spider Day" at school!  Luke and his sweet friend and neighbor!

A glow in the dark skeleton, Gilligan, and Riggs the ghost.

Luke and his lady entourage!!  Happy Halloween!

The day after Halloween was bittersweet.  This moment right here was the sweetness but the bitter was helping our dearest friends and neighbors pack up their house to move on to their next chapter and adventure in Georgia.  The day has been looming for some time but it arrived and we conquered and cried and laughed and smiled.  Paths cross for a reason and we are thankful every. single. day. that ours did.  We love each and every on of them beyond measure!  After a day of packing and organizing and playing we were all invited to our dear elderly neighbors house for spaghetti and meatballs.  Maryann is a storyteller like no other and she told us and the kids about the beauty of a "comb band."  She made the story into a reality!

Luke on the drums, M on the tambourine, and J, N, and Maryann playing combs!  Beautiful music with beautiful people!  LIVING life!

We got to take care of this sweet girl for a weekend.

Weekend fort building in the backyard.  :-)

Weekend time with our dear friends!  Nothing like a little "planking" before launching model rockets! Love these boys!  We certainly savor and cherish our weekends with our family and with our friends!
