We have had a busy 2 weeks! Luke was his class's "Fantastic Frog" (ie the Student of the Week)! He loved his role and he took his role very seriously. Freddie the Frog came everywhere with us and was very much a part of our family for the week. Luke got to be the line leader at school and I came in to read to the class (Luke chose some poems from Where the Sidewalk Ends). He also brought in his favorite snack to share (crackers, beef jerky, and strawberries). It was a wonderful week!
Freddie, Mallory, and a trip to the zoo - life is good!
A part of the family!
We headed to HH for the weekend and Sheshy surprised Luke with a golf set just for him! Please know that Luke is aware the jammies are not appropriate golf attire.
Saving minnows from a dried up tidal pool with Ima.
Today is Riggs' 9th birthday!! But we celebrated a bit yesterday with a trip to the river. Luke and Riggs were in heaven! Lots of splashing, rock throwing, fish sightings (and a few snake sightings too), and geocaching. An awesome day!
On the hunt for fish!
Soaking wet and smiling!
I often tell Luke that he reminds me of Huckleberry Finn....muddy shoes (he would be barefoot if I let him), a walking stick, and chomping on an apple. I love this little explorer!
This is how Riggs is spending his birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, RIGGS! We LOVE you and are so incredibly thankful to have you in our family! Adopting Riggs was one of our most treasured decisions. We cannot imagine life without him and he makes us smile daily. He is a living lesson in unconditional love and we are grateful!!
