I have decided that we are ready for a little more structured playtime. Everyday (or every other day depending on our busy playdate and sprinklertime schedule) I make attempts at structured arts and crafts time. It gives Luke a chance to focus and stay still for more than 3 minutes and it allows me to sit down and just marvel at his creativity. Oh, and there are rarely sound effects that go along with arts and crafts time and to be honest this thrills me. This particular day I went out of my comfort zone and let Luke use glue...and by let Luke use glue....I really mean I let him have the bottle. I know, I know,....SO not like me but I too am trying new things and it was fun! I say that because he managed to not get any in his hair so that equals a HUGE success! I didn't really know where I was going with this particular activity so I hit the kitchen and the bathroom. I had some sort of potpourri mix that I had gotten as a gift forever ago (so sorry if you were the one who gave it to me...take solace in that it is being used in a masterpiece!) so I let Luke use that and then I hit the pantry....I mean seriously...when am I ever going to use 12 bay leaves?!
