Playing Catch-Up

Team Tully has been busy being busy!  This summer has truly been flying by and this cat is thrilled about that.  Bring on November!!  (I say November because I know I can go from sun-up to sun-down without sweating in November).  Here are the Team Tully Tidbits:

1. We have taken on lounging from about 330 to 430 in the afternoon.  A. Luke has just woken up from his nap and believe it or not is not ready to run amuck. B. It is too darn hot to be outside.  C. I am desperately trying to find something caffeinated to drink to get me through the rest of the day.

2. Luke and I survived a long week without L (although L was surviving his own long week).  L was working hard in SC.  His trip was full of delayed flights, chiggers, cops, sheriffs, the K9 unit, 3am bedtimes, and lost cell phones.  If you want more information please get in touch with L...it is just too long a story to post.  Just know that everyone is fine and L is not the new owner of a criminal record.

3. We hit up the Children's Museum, the Aquarium, and the Science Museum whenever possible.  The criteria for summer outings are as follows:  air conditioning and/or water.  It is really that simple.
There is little Luke not at all discouraged that he can barely see over the lip of the water table.

"I can do this Daddy!"  I now have to clarify:  if the quote is in parentheses it is what I assume he is thinking, no parentheses means he actually said it.  Clear? OK.

The "sand" is actually recycled rubber bits so it doesn't stay plastered to the sweaty kids all day....genius!

Umm...watch out El Capitan!!

Such focus!

Our little scientist...he just can't help it!  :)

This is for you, Papaw!

("Put down that camera and help me "fix" this!")

("I guess I am going to have to drop at least one of these tools to work this thing.")

("Naaa, I will just get Daddy to help me.")

A polka dot fish...the prettiest one in the sea!

And there are those medical genes....giving the poor puppy a shot....in the ear?!?

"Don't worry, I am making him feel better!"

"Sheshy, I caught a flounder!"

4. I spent a portion of last weekend in Maine (I spent almost exactly 24 hours in Maine) for my gorgeous cousin K's wedding!  It was such a lovely wedding and K was a more than beautiful bride!!  I got to see some family members that I haven't seen in a very long time (too long).  It was such a fun time!  :)  While I was basking in low 70 degree temperatures L and Luke were battling the upper 90s.  L and Luke are the official duck feeders but apparently this time Luke was much more interested in "going for a ride with the T-rex."

5. Luke currently has a cold or as he says:  "I have such a cough" and "My nose is broken".  No fever just a lot of snot and hacking going on.  His attitude is slightly less than perfect with a cold as well so my patience is being tested daily...it is a good thing he is so darn cute!

6. Riggs is Riggs and spends his days hiding from Luke, hiding from thunder, and seeking food, attention, and lizards that make their way in the house to escape the afternoon deluges.

7. She really deserves a blog of her very own and I will challenge myself to do just that but I just wanted to mention that we have the best babysitter in the world!  Seriously!  We LOVE her.  I love her like any good mother would love a wonderful babysitter and L loves her like any good father would love a competent babysitter plus he loves her like I love Justin Timberlake.  You know what I mean?  Ha!  Seriously though, she is such a sweet girl, so so so smart (like crazy smart...like "I think I am number 2 in my class" smart), she is sweet with Luke, engaging with Luke, she is certified in infant, child, and adult CPR, she is bilingual, she teaches Luke some Spanish words,  she washes dishes and picks up toys.  She is perfection.  If I was 15 years younger we would totally be BFFs.  In fact, I would like to be BFFs now but L reminds me that she is in high school and although I find her fascinating and oh so cool, she does not feel the same way about me.  I provide her with a cute kid to watch for a few hours and a paycheck.  I will say that she has more in common with L (hence the lovefest) but she does share my enthusiasm for sweet potato fries and colleges that have the "pretty factor".

I guess that is all for now.  The horizon holds a mini-vacay, playdate hosting, party hosting, gator hunting, and harbor cruising.  That should be enough to get us to September.
