Basically we took a mini vacation because we found a super sweet deal on a very swanky hotel in Orlando and we just couldn't pass it up! We live close to Orlando, I mean really close, so close that Luke doesn't even fall asleep in the car on the way there. So off we went to our swanky hotel with absolutely no plans of going to a single Orlando amusement park. That's right, that is how cool our hotel was. We spent almost 2 full days wandering around our hotel and taking it all in and on our way home we side stepped over to Downtown Disney for a little high-fiving with some characters and a lunch date with a triceratops.
Luke is SOOO excited to be at the swanky hotel and to be putting his bathing suit on and to be jumping on an enormous bed.
L and Luke strolling the "streets" of the hotel. This is INSIDE the hotel! There is a huge atrium that makes you feel like you are outside but bathes you in air conditioning...it is my Florida heaven!
See what I mean? Inside!! Gorgeous and Genius.
Mom, you would not believe the flowers at this place!
Gators! So many gators. And we got to watch their feeding session. Chicken was on the menu...they seemed to really like it.
Our tour guide. Showing us "really big goldfish."
Beautiful Koi. (we did indeed teach Luke the correct name for these)
"I catch this!" A boy can dream.
We are still INSIDE the hotel, this massive floating boat is a restaurant.
Luke was so happy to have Daddy on "family vacation".
This reminds me so much of Amie. I just had to take a photo. These sand sculptures rotate monthly.
Hangin' with the dolphins.
We stopped to watch the alligators no less than 1,200 times while we were there! These things were a bigger hit than the pool.
Is he not the cutest darn thing you have ever seen?!
The LEGO store at Downtown Disney. This blows my mind! There were about 4 others just like it on display.
Our lunch location. The dinosaurs come to life while you are dining and Luke was so in love with this place. In fact, we were there a week ago and he brought the "dinosaur restaurant" up at lunch today!
"Buzz is here, Buzz is here!"
Luke's favorite cowboy
I included this picture for 2 reasons. 1. I can't figure out why Donald is so mad. 2. Luke is in the picture with his new dump truck. We were in a toy store and L told him he was allowed to pick 1 item. He immediately chose this truck and even when showed other items that he would like he kept saying "no, this is what I want Daddy to buy." Oh how I love my little decisive boy!
We had a great time and we hope to do more little trips like this. It is so nice (and important) to be away from the daily grind!!
Hey that's the Gaylord hotel! I stayed at the Dallas version last year for a meeting. Pretty wild place! Glad y'all had fun!
