So, we headed to Dinosaur World over the weekend. It is so close to our house that I cannot believe we hadn't been yet but off we went and we had a lovely dino time! Listen, you can't go from being on a cruise with constant entertainment directly to days at home with some matchbox cars. We had to slowly decrease our entertainment load...Saturday = Dinosaur world, Sunday = Busch Gardens, Tuesday = Playdate, and today we went to a flea market. I think Luke is now ready to be back to the hum drum days of being a toddler and I could really use a day to get some laundry done. :)
So Luke loves dinosaurs...loves, LOVES! He comes by it naturally of course but they seem to be on his top five list of obsessions lately. He can actually say, and say pretty darn well, "T-rex", "Stegosaurus", "Brachiosaurus", and "Triceratops." Therefore, every single dinosaur we saw fell into one of the above categories, regardless of what it actually was.
Silly Daddy
Luke trying desperately to join the baby dino family!
Oh yes, Riggs was allowed to come! Yay for outside, dog friendly, dinosaur parks!! (I assume they are few and far between).
Believe it or not this sheer look of joy is while staring at an open-mouthed T-rex! He won't go into a dark room but he will smile ear to ear when face to face with the mightiest of all the dinosaurs!
Even Riggs had to look the other way!
In all his glory!
Luke insisted on calling this guy a "turtle". I can see it. Sorry but I can't remember the names of all of these things so "this guy" is going to have to be sufficient. (Sorry Mit, I hope I have not let you down!)
Luke caught on quickly that Daddy likes to read the signs so he would run up to one before L and I got there and say "Daddy, sign. Daddy, sign." (Mommy likes to read signs too but she also likes to make sure that her only son does not disappear into ferns and raptors).
Luke: "Mommy, whaz tis?"
Me: "It's called a Spinosaurus"
Luke: "T-rex!"
Luke's first field work!
How is his technique Uncle Mit?!
We just love our little whoolly mammoth!
