Team Tully is slowing getting into the swing of things. We have had 1 excellent night's sleep, one mediocre night, and 2 terrible nights. I figure that is pretty good for the first 4 nights at home. We have learned that LL would rather be held chest to chest than any other way (see picture below). Getting him to lay flat on his back has been a challenge despite that being the safest way for him to sleep (hence the terrible nights). He is so strong already...he can hold his head up for about 10 seconds (which according to the baby books is rather rare at less than a week of age) and he could conduct an orchestra with the way he moves his hands. He seems so much bigger and older to us already at just a week old. Our diapering skills are progressing with each day, although I have already become very picky about what diapers I like best. He is simply amazing and we are finding it hard to get anything else accomplished . L goes back to work next week and I know for sure that LL and I will miss him unbelievably (and vice versa I am sure - LL is Daddy's buddy already). So we are good, more than good, we are as awake as we can be and happier than ever. Much of this is do to my family jumping in and doing all the things that have to get done but that we are too tired or overwhelmed (or in my case sore) to do. My mom and dad have been truly amazing - cleaning, cooking, walking Riggs, washing dishes, watering plants, laundry, the list goes on and on. They have been wonderful and we couldn't have made it through our first week without them. We will be forever grateful! We love you!!
I am not forgetting about Riggs. He deserves a blog of his own - his relationship with LL is beyond cute and we couldn't feel better about how he has just taken it all in. He is certainly the dog we were meant to have. More on him later.
A couple of pictures:
Absolutely adorable! Hopefully LL gets used to sleeping on his back. It is so great that your parents are there to help. That is truly invaluable I'm sure...our best to you and the fam :-)
