Arts and Crafts and Heavy Breathing

On the long long long list of pre-baby tasks was birthing class. What an experience! Let's just say it was way better than I thought it was going to be. We spent our Saturday (thank goodness the weather was not that great so I wasn't staring out the window longingly) with 7 other couples from 9am to 5pm learning the art of birthing. If you are thinking that is one long day you are beyond correct...exactly 5pm is when we were excused from class, not a minute before. We listened, we watched, we practiced, and we acted. I won't get into details but I am sure your imaginations are running wild and you are probably on the right track. It was a little like what you see in the movies. L and I did our best and I am proud to say that we were not the most immature people in the class. That is not to say that we didn't crack a smile or have to look away from each other to keep from laughing during the seemingly endless "he he he whoooo" breathing session that for some reason the teacher made us do staring into each others eyes - she was just asking for it in my opinion. We met some nice folks as well, out of 7 couples 4 of us are due in the middle of June so perhaps we will meet again with our little ones. We felt like it was worthwhile and we are glad we went...plus we got a complimentary gourmet steak and shrimp dinner sent to our hospital room out of it.

In other news L and I are turning into real artists...my grandmother would be so proud! We have taken it upon ourselves to create artwork for Baby Tully's room. I hope he appreciates it (he can do that by not having projectile vomit that lands directly on our hard work). We have been painting up a storm and so far it looks great. We have cream walls in the nursery so it needs a little excitement. Once we have all of it together I will post some pictures - it might be awhile since we have yet to assemble the crib.

Smooches---K
