Carolina - Family, Friends, and Pizza!

L and I got to spend the holiday weekend with Daney in North Carolina. It was nice to get back to our old stomping grounds...even if just for a little while. I was a little lax in taking pictures...sorry. On Friday we arrived in the mid afternoon for some shopping and neighborhood stalking. Whenever we are back in town (which is not as often as we would like) we head to our old neighborhood to poke around. Our old house looks good - it looked better when we lived there though (obviously!). We hit up some stores and then met some friends for drinks and appetizers. It was great to see them and we hung out for a few hours just shootin' the breeze. Our friend Erin is three weeks ahead of me with her pregnancy and a baby girl so we were in maternity glory discussing waistbands, cold cuts, and glucose tests. It was a blast!

Daney took us out for a late dinner Friday night at the lovely Nantucket Grill ... delicious! Thanks Daney! On Saturday Daney was gracious enough to shuttle us to Trader Joe's for some gourmet and organic shopping...yum! We picked up our pizza toppings here too...pepperoni, sausage, spinach, mushrooms, onions, cheese, sauce, and fresh pizza dough.

Our lunch dates on Saturday were our dear friends Rafe and Tamriko (the best neighbors a person could ask for). We gabbed and gabbed about all things and they got us the cutest outfit for baby boy Tully (he will look like a miniature version of his dad), so cute!! We just love seeing them and were so excited that they could meet up with us. What great friends!!

We walked off our lunch with a serious trek around Daney's neighborhood followed by a fruit popsicle for your favorite preggers. I didn't get to enjoy all of it as you can see....our dear Coby had his fair share.

Finally...pizza time! So much fun, it is a Valentine's tradition for L and I to make homemade pizza (we are not into "romantic" dinners at overly crowded, noisy restaraunts). Please cast your vote for who's technique reins supreme: Daney, L, or K.

It was delicious and much better than any take-out! We followed dinner with a movie but to be honest my pregnant self couldn't stay awake so I can't voice my opinion. Daney and L watched "Wanted." It got good reviews from them both.

Sunday Daney was back at work bright and early and L and I took a day trip to SC to wander around a bit. It was great and L was a fabulous tour guide.

Monday we headed home to regroup, unpack, and relax. A great trip for sure!
