May. May is a lot...it is fun and busy and celebratory and sad and exiting. May is all the things. We approach May each year with gratitude, anticipation, some trepidation and deep breaths. May is the month (+) of L being out west and Luke and I living life with a very important part of our triangle missing. The triangle is famously one of the strongest shapes in nature and Team Tully is a testament to that. Here is a glimpse into May for Luke and I....
A day at the lake for this crew. Such a fun and funny group of boys. SO grateful for Luke's chosen friend family!
The fishing commentary when I arrived to pick them up was priceless - you would think these kids earn a living doing this with all their "pro tips"
Luke continues to perform well in the Pokemon world - placing in almost every tournament he enters. His mental capacity for this strategic and fast-paced game always blows me away.
I got us (me, Luke, and his buddy) tickets to see a WNBA game being held on campus. The Las Vegas Aces vs. the national team of Puerto Rico. It was a great time - it was not a great game. But the hometown crowd was thrilled to have A'ja Wilson back in action at her alma mater. Our beloved Dawn Staley was in attendance and it was a great way to spend the afternoon.
Post-game picture with the statue of A'ja outside the arena. Women's basketball reigns supreme here
Humbly winning another tournament
This photo cracks me up! These three..also known as 'my three sons' ... have been friends for such a long time and they are a constant in our home, at our table, and in our lives. It is rarely just the three of them anymore as their social circle has grown but on a random May Saturday morning I spent time with just the three of them - like the good ol' days. They are truly like brothers and act like fools in public places (hence the faces) but I love them so much! Again, so thankful for Luke's friend family.
And this photo is for my mom and Daney. Luke's favorite Pokemon place is about a 20-25 minute drive from home. This kid falls asleep nearly EVERY SINGLE TIME. My mom likes to tell the story about how Daney would fall asleep EVERY SINGLE TIME on the 20-25 minute drive to the orthodontist as a teenager. Like Aunt Like Nephew. :-)
Not pictured: multiple graduation parties for kids I have tutored in the past, the last day of school, long dog walks, pool parties, sleepovers here and elsewhere, endless Mom vs. Luke ping pong games, and Luke and my obsession with the tv show The Resident
