Quarantine 2020: Volume 4

Hello, Hello!  Time keeps on tickin' doesn't it?  The quarantine life continues.  Since my last quarantine post lots and little has happened.  Isn't that how this all feels?  Not a whole lot going on but at the same time life feels like a lot.  It feels heavy and overwhelming and there are just so many unknowns.  It's a weird time but we continue to be grateful for who and what we have in our lives!  I don't have any pictures but I just want to make mention that L added himself to the Tully injury list (just to review, Jasper had to be sedated to have a claw removed and Luke sliced his finger open) by getting a tear in his retina.  Yep.  So far I have managed to stay in one piece.  Fingers crossed.  But here are some photos of our continued quarantine life.

Our Pokemon fanatic has resorted to trying to teach L and I how to better play the game.  So far we have not impressed him and he is desperate for a "challenging opponent."  So if you know anyone please let us know!

Our quarantine "Fun Fridays" continued with a celebration of the arts and creativity!  I asked the kids to wear their most colorful outfit to play Win, Lose, or Draw and Charades.  Luke was super creative with his attire and designed his own shirt!

 The colorful gang!

Sometimes I don't know how well my ideas are going to be received.  In fact I thought that this week's activity would be a bust and that the kids wouldn't really be into it BUT they LOVED it!  The loved the charades, they loved the drawing, they loved it all and we played for over an hour and a half!
Ima surprised Luke by going on the release day of the 4th Hunger Games to get him a copy!!  He quickly made his way through the first three and this one (a prequel to the trilogy) is over 500 pages long.  He can't put it down!

Fun Friday had the theme of "Food Frenzy".  Using the same country that they chose for the COVID Olympics that kids researched a typical meal in their country and how much it would cost.  Then they were asked to convert that to US dollars.  It was an interesting lesson in 1st versus 3rd world countries.  Then we got to the games.  No hands eating pretzels off a string.  Hilarious!

A team egg on a spoon obstacle course!

Blindfolded tasting and describing the food to your partner without naming it...descriptions only!  A messy and fun game.

These BFFs are 5th Grade Graduates!!  I remember their kindergarten days so clearly!  Time flies and we are so very very thankful for these elementary school years.

So so so so many quarantine hours at the creek. SO many!!!

He did it!  We are so proud of this kid!  His grades are phenomenal, he is a good friend, a respectful student, and our very favorite guy!  We love you!!

The school went above and beyond to celebrate these kids and we are thankful for their time and effort in making this strange and challenging time a little more normal.

Lake life using kayaks as paddleboards

A trip to a berry farm with friends!

 The three amigos.....+ Jasper

Luke and I go blackberry picking EVERY morning!  Every morning.  We have two special spots in the neighborhood wild spaces that we just love.  I can't wait to show you what he has done with all of his collections.

We go out before most of the neighborhood is awake as to not give away our location.  :-)

These three caught about 10 fish at the neighborhood creek!  They brought a few home to have for lunch.   Doesn't get much fresher than that!

 The never ending Monopoly game.

 This is how we relax
