40: This Is What I Know For Sure

-       I am loved
-       Having L to share life with is the greatest gift I have ever been given
-       Being Luke’s mom is the greatest joy and accomplishment of my life.
-       A good cup of coffee and a good book are two of life’s best simple pleasures
-       Home is who you are with, not where you are
-       Friendships are measured in quality, not quantity
-       Roots and wings are both incredibly necessary, neither comes easy
-       For better or for worse Time is very real.  It should be used wisely, purposefully, and with love.
-       Country music has a lot of great life lessons
-       Wander often, Wonder always
-       There is power and magic in being in nature
-       Always underbake brownies
-       Collect moments, not things
-       The vastness of Alaska and the crowded streets of New York City both provide humility – embrace it, carry it with you
-       Saying “No” to one thing means you are saying “Yes” to something else
-       Love does
-       My childhood was the kind that far too many only dream about.  I recognize this.  I am grateful.  Thank you mom and dad.
-       Words matter
-       Being present allows you to truly live
-       Heinz ketchup is the only way to go
-       Belly laughs are a necessary part of life
-       I am thankful for every person I have met and every path I have crossed; however brief.  All of those connections play a part in my life story.
-       Going for a walk can cure most ailments
-       Play the hand you are dealt the best way you know how
-        Travel with eyes wide open, mind wide open, and heart wide open
-       My dance moves are getting better with age
-       Having a dog makes life busier, funnier, and more vivid.
-       Packing dryer sheets in luggage is a welcome thing upon arrival
-       You cannot hold others to the expectations you set for yourself
-       Giving a hug can carry all the right words when you don’t have them
-       Gratitude should be daily
-       The ordinary is the extraordinary
-       Living simply and with less gives us so much more to cherish
-       L and Luke will never truly understand just how much I love them
-       Raising a child is hard. Loving a child is easy.
-       Say what you mean and mean what you say.
-       Camping is always worth it
-       There is value and respect in handwriting a thank you note. Take the time to do it.
-       I have never had to look outside my own family for role models.
-       I know who I am and I am happy
