Chronological or Chunks?

Today is Luke's birthday!  Which will totally get a post of its own but while he is in birthday bliss with a friend I thought I would start hacking away at posting all about our summer adventures!  I am not sure whether to go by the calendar or to just chunk our adventures and fun into installments.?  It will probably end up being a mix of the two. Anyway, let's get started.  Our summer has been oh so busy so far, seriously barely a day of nothingness.   Those days are approaching but we have entered summer with excitement and busy days!  We are soaking up every bit of it and Luke is at a great age where his stamina is high and he wants to be a part of everything.  He has lots of summer momentum and we have filled our days!  We have also been keepin' it real with daily and weekly chores as well as making sure Luke's amazing brain doesn't turn to mush.  :-)  I don't completely turn off my "Mom switch" but we have found a balance of what we NEED to do and what we WANT to do!

Here we go....Welcome to Team Tully's summer!

A summer sewing lesson from Ima

He made a neck pillow for the car and a pillow for his stuffed animals.  His patience astounded me but it might have had  A LOT to do with the incredible patience of the teacher! ;-)

Summer afternoon with the twins!  I was lucky enough to have these kiddos all afternoon and into the evening while their mom was preparing for a trip of a lifetime.  These three are so hilarious together..full of laughter and imagination and vocabularies to rival Alex Trebek.

The conversations are priceless

As are the imaginations.  They engineered some serious "armor" for a battle in the backyard

Pooltime with neighborhood friends

Luke is part of a golf league this summer!  We have never done anything like this but he asked L and I how he could play more golf so I got to work researching and asking around and we found an excellent program for him.  He loves it and has met some great kids!  He plays on a team and they play at real golf clubs and country clubs around our city.  He has a uniform and they play by PGA rules and everything.  He is having a great time and it is fun for L and I to watch him hold his own out on the course!

Practice

This one got a pool for the summer.  He uses it.  A lot.  The husky in him is shining through on these hot days.

Once again out on the lake with Becca.  Having subs for dinner sitting in the kayaks...it's a pretty sweet lake life.  :-)

Speaking of lakes.....Jasper got to test out Daney and James' backyard lake at their new house site!  He approves!  We all do.  We got to got to the construction site to check out the progress of their new and gorgeous house!  It is going to be  beautiful!

Luke making sure Jasper doesn't try to jump out the second story window...how is that for a backyard.  The lake life!  We can't wait to see it all completed!

Thank goodness Jasper and Coby "get along"!  And by "get along" I mean that Coby puts him in his place whenever he feels it necessary.  Hilarious!

Our end of school surprise for Luke was to take him to see Broadway's The Lion King!  It was awesome!!  Aunt Daney and Uncle James came with us and we loved the show.  Luke was SO impressed with the costumes.

From the culture of the theater to using a cookie sheet attached to a toilet paper roll as a shield from the sprinklers.  #reallife #aboyslife

Getting his circuit on! :-)

A summer afternoon staple...reading time!

Tournament Time!

Luke and his partner.  This kid is awesome! So positive, so encouraging, and quite the chatterbox...just like Luke!

Legoville with the Drayton boys

We so adore this family and all they bring to our lives.  We are so lucky to have met them and share life with them!

Those smiles!!!

So...our summer has gotten off to a great start and I still have at least two more posts waiting in the wings that happened in early June!  We are so thankful to live the life we do with the people we do and the places we are lucky enough to go to.  THANKFUL!
