Spring Break! Hooray for Spring Break! We filled ours right up. We were so busy doing our very favorite things. I was proud of myself for letting cleaning and laundry and even grocery shopping go. It was a week all about Luke and fun and play. A break from routine for sure!! I put a post-it note in Luke's lunch box everyday (yes, I am THAT mom) and I put one in on Monday listing all the things we did...a post-it note wouldn't cut it. I had to go with a 4x6 index card. A sign that lots of fun was had!
Here's what we did: beach combing, bike riding, golfing, swimming, made a new friend, boat ride, golf ball sorting, listened to Ima's bell choir, playdate at the park, play with neighbors, bunny brunch, hiking, learning how to play and playing a real pokemon battle, egg hunts, kayaking, Easter treats, movies, giving Jasper a bath. A week of JOY!
Chasing squirrels up the trees. Endless entertainment for both him and us.
Our backyard irises are gorgeous this year!
This is how Ima spent her birthday, as Luke's caddie. She claims it was a great gift! Love.
Ummmmm...this was in the box of over 100 golf balls. Memories!
New friend Ryan...talking Legos at the marina
Me and my best guy...a dozen dolphin seen...always such a treat!
Park play with our best buds!
Pizza in the park...is there anything better?!
Family kayaking on the lake.
Easter games and fun and an egg hunt, so fun!
I always document things like this because if you know Luke you know how rare character occasions like this occur. Ha!
Happy Easter!
A big THANK YOU goes out to Granny and Papaw who every year play the Easter Bunny role to make sure that Luke has a fantastic Easter morning full of fun and surprises!!
Hiking on a massive outcrop! A gorgeous way to spend a Saturday
So...Luke asked me to take this picture. On this giant outcrop there was a lot of spray paint, a lot of "Suzy + Johnny = Forever" and other totally unnecessary markings. Luke mentioned that people shouldn't do that. We agreed and talked about respecting nature and leaving it as untouched as we can when we are lucky enough to wander in beautiful places like this. We came to a section that had lots of lichen growing and Luke said "See, that is nature's artwork. Take a picture. People don't need to draw art on this rock, it's already here." Proud of him!
While we hiked the three amigos hung out at my friend's house. Happy pups!
Inflatable boxing gloves. Totally unnecessary and ridiculous but these were Luke's chosen prize at the egg hunt. Kind of hilarious.
More golf. Luke and I had a date at the driving range on Easter Sunday to round out our glorious and busy and full and FANTASTIC spring break!!
