ALWAYS worth it!

Team Tully spent last weekend in a tiny town and we enjoyed every second of it!  We hob nobbed with the locals, we had some fall fun, and we camped at "the creek."  L has made so many wonderful connections in this tiny place and I was so glad that Luke and I got to take part in the small town life for the weekend.  We had a great time and we are thankful for rural places and good people.

Our first stop was the local fire department.  A lunch treat and tour of the facilities, trucks, and even this medical helicopter!  Awesome.  I think L chatted with the pilot for over 20 minutes...I thought he might come tell me that he had a new career. ;-)

This is the medic's seat

After lunch and trying out the helicopter and trucks we got to watch some of these fireman practice a vehicle extraction.  So cool!

From the firehouse we headed down the street to one of the claims to fame of this little place. A beautiful peach orchard and farm.  We took a tractor ride to a pumpkin patch and corn maze!

The maze runner! :-) Thank goodness for L and his fantastic navigating!  These corn mazes are no joke!  You know when they give you an emergency contact number it is serious business.

Our final stop was "the creek" where our dear friends Mr. W and Mrs. G let us make their home and property ours for the weekend.  Thank you!  It is such a beautiful place away from it all.  We walked around the property, we fished, we camped, we built a fire and ate hot dogs and s'mores, we rode four wheelers, we hunted for arrowheads, and we just enjoyed being together.  The joke about camping is that the amount of "stuff" you pack and gather is insane "just" to sleep outside.  I get it.  It is a lot of gear and planning and gathering and packing and unpacking and setting up and taking down, etc.  But...it is ALWAYS worth it to us.  Always.

Beautiful

Can't beat the view

We found our way to the okra patch

This is how riding a four wheeler makes you feel...happy and tough!  (that is my happy/tough face)

Loves it!

A very successful fishing day!

A beautiful sunrise on a beautiful day during a beautiful getaway.
Lucky us.
