Luke and I had a discussion about acts of kindness and I asked him to come up with some that he would like to carry out. He took his own money and put some quarters into the vending machines outside a store so that when a kid came in and saw a quarter already loaded they would be "so excited!" He also took a dollar bill and tucked it under a cupcake that cost 88 cents. :-) Lastly, Luke LOVES finding money (true signs of being Sheshy's grandson) in parking lots, on the ground, wherever. He took five pennies and placed them in various places on the ground. He had so much fun doing all of this, so much fun in GIVING. I asked how he felt about not knowing and not seeing who would benefit from his gifts...he said "that's the best part." Love.
Another library summer reading challenge complete! So proud of our little bookworm.
My favorite sous chef!
Pool days with friends. H and Luke spent well over an hour "rescuing" bugs that had fallen into the pool. They had a rescue boat and a bug hospital on the pool deck. Hilarious!
Pool pals
Some of the bugs from the pool area that could not be rescued were brought home "to be studied". L and I will not be shocked if Luke becomes an entomologist. Just this morning he saved a fly from our bedroom...trapped in in a cup and took it outside to set it free.
An awesome playdate set up by our awesome friends to swim and explore and to "mine" for geodes and gems and arrowheads. So fantastic! A morning well spent!

B and Luke cracking open geodes
Loving the hunt! :-)
B and Luke have spent many summer mornings kayaking and swimming, this particular day they added some pre-kayaking time trading Pokemon cards. A great friendship!
Lounging with his BFF...the topic of discussion was nerf guns and storm troopers.
Summer Science! A mini lesson about polymers. (you're never too young. ha!)
