Team Tully headed to our nation's capital to be with friends and to explore and to learn and to be humbled yet again by our life and privileges. Our dear friends, the Gonzalez family, have made their way to Washington DC for their latest stint in an enviable life of travel. We last saw them in their London home and by the summer's end they will be on to their next location, Russia! We are beyond grateful to have R, T, C, and K in our lives and we love and respect them so very much! They are kind, brilliant, and generous and we are so thankful that our paths crossed a dozen years ago. C and K are brilliant and beautiful and their spirits are so amazing and sweet! Thank you, dear friends, for loving us and opening up your home to us so that we can share in your newest adventure!
In February Luke's class spent some time, around President's Day, learning about George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. What a blessing it was to be able to take him beyond the textbook, beyond a paper image to the real thing! He got to see the ACTUAL Washington Monument, the White House, and the Lincoln Memorial. Two places he learned about and saw pictures of. But to be there....a whole different experience. Lucky kid!
My two favorite boys...tiny in comparison.
The Obama house! Luke was more impressed by the size of the yard than the size of the house.
The Lincoln Memorial - trying to explain the concept of slavery to a 5 year old (who asked "why was there slavery?") is a very difficult thing. Parenting...hardest job EVER!
We were lucky enough to be downtown for the Irish-American St. Patrick's Day parade! So cool! The bagpipes were a favorite.
Luke's favorite...the Air and Space Museum!
These three make my heart happy! They are all at wonderful ages where they carry on their own conversations and they ask a million questions. So awesome.
Memorized by L, who was playing the part of a Sheriff in a pretend traffic violation.
Thank you R and T for loving us like family! May you continue to thrive and grow in this incredible life you have chosen! We are your biggest cheerleaders and we love you!
