My Friday Night

I have oodles of birthday pictures and family fun to post but I have to remember this...I have to remember this for years and years to come.  One of the best Friday nights of my life....

Here is what the last glorious 45 minutes have been like:

A small but powerful storm blew through so Riggs was of course a shaking ball of fur but as the storm passed he calmed down a bit but not quite enough that he left my side.  I decided that while the boys finished some Star Wars shenanigans that I would dye my hair (let's face it...my conscience and my wallet cannot handle getting it professionally done every six weeks so I have a bit of a luxury/poor man rotation going on).  I was letting the ever present grays take hold to the dye at the roots when L and Luke popped in ready for their salon experience.  Luke climbed our little step ladder and L gave him a very professional haircut while Luke sipped on the haircut bribe of root beer.  Riggs rounded out our foursome on the floor...somehow dodging both hair dye and hair shavings.  Luke's haircut was deemed "awesome" and L began to cut his own hair.  By this time I had completed the dyeing process and was in the shower rinsing it all out.  Riggs is still laying tub-side.  While I was in the shower and L was cutting his own hair and Riggs was finally breathing at a normal pace our beautiful and hilarious son strolls into the bathroom with his guitar and proceeds to serenade us with a rock n' roll version of Jesus Loves Me.  There.  That was my Friday night.  Perhaps the best 45 minutes ever.  And as I stood there and took in this crazy and ridiculous and humorous and PERFECT scene I couldn't help but think that there is no where....absolutely no where I would have rather been.
