Cheerio ol' chaps!! We had a lovely, actually, more than lovely time in the UK visiting with dear friends of ours and seeing the sights of London and Edinburgh. I attempted to put all the pictures (blog pictures are about a quarter of the total pictures we have!!) into one post but then I decided that was CRAZY!!! Here is volume one:
Sheer joy after a 8 hour transatlantic flight! Welcome to London little boy!!
The ABSOLUTE BEST hostesses!! C in the middle, K on the right. Our time with our friends was far and away the best part of our trip!! We miss the Gonzalez family dearly and we are so thankful that they opened their home and their arms to us while we were in London. They were amazing tour guides, hosts, and we are blessed that our lives crossed paths 8 years ago!
Hyde Park. Luke loved the playgrounds, but even more so he loved the pigeon chasing. "We need more pigeons where we live."
Team Tully as the Beatles (minus one) doing the Abbey Road walk.
Little Venice
The tube! We LOVED it! So easy to get around and even Luke could name the different lines by the time we left. "Mind the Gap."
Our fabulous boat ride from Camden Locks back to Little Venice. A great way to see some of the city!
Big Ben in all of his glory! We even got there just in time to hear the clock strike 10am! :)
Westminster Abbey
This picture cracks me up because despite my urging Luke to look at the camera he insisted that "I had to keep an eye on that soldier so he wouldn't use his sword on us." Hahaha!
So many green spaces! Beautiful parks everywhere and we chose to walk through many of them instead of riding from one site to the next.
St. James Park - check out the London Eye in the background.
Changing of the Guards at Buckingham Palace. We waved to the Queen but she didn't wave back.
We walked across the Thames and got this great view of Parliament. I know these pictures make the weather look terrible but it really wasn't. In nine days we only had 1 rainy day. Cloudy was fine by us!!
Getting on to the London Eye. So cool!
Our little tourist manipulating the computer screens on the London Eye.
Afternoon ice cream face!
R and T offered to sit at the house while the kids slept so L and I could venture into London for a date night! It was fantastic and we were beyond grateful. We wandered to all the not so kid friendly places, had some pints, watched the street performers, and meandered around London until almost midnight. Traveling with a toddler is fun and BUSY so a night sans Luke was enjoyed and appreciated!
Stay tuned.....
