We had a lovely Thanksgiving in West Virginia with our favorite Tullys! It was full of food, family, and fun! We love being in the gorgeous moutains of WV and this time we even got to see SNOW...something our little family hasn't seen in a few years!
Papaw's birthday fell on Thanksgiving this year so Granny had the creative idea of putting candles in the turkey! Luke thought it was hilarious!
(I am only going to mention this once...Luke is obsessed with Spiderman. OBSESSED. So obsessed that we had to institute rules: 1. you can't sleep in the costume 2. you can't wear the costume to school. Bottomline...we have the weird costume wearing kid and we kind of LOVE it! ha!!!)
Luke really was a fantastic tree decorator! And God bless Granny because she let him put whatever he wanted wherever he wanted! I saw one branch that had 4 different ornaments on it. And the garland, sweet heavens...there were sections with nothing on it, sections with a whole heaping pile, and sections that draped 6 inches! Granny never said a word. :) And I would put money on it that the tree is EXACTLY the way Luke left it...now being a week later. That is a grandmother's love!
Luke declared "this is the prettiest tree in the whole world."
A morning hike. Luke is pointing out deer tracks!
Three generations of great men!
Love
This looks like it is a serious lesson but really we were uncovering deer poop.
Lance had just climbed about 5 limbs up and Luke just had to go next. He is certainly his father's shadow!
This picture is so fantastic!!
"Christmas" morning! We won't be able to see Granny and Papaw in December so we doubled up on the holidays. Believe it or not, we were eating breakfast before opening presents and it started to snow!!! Flakes so tiny you needed a dark backdrop to see them but it didn't matter to Luke. He shouted "Granny, it's snowing because it is Christmas!"
Luke got some new tools and was testing them out with Papaw, measuring the size of his hand.
"I am very good at helping with unwrapping."
So darn sweet!!!!
We enjoyed our time and we are looking forward to seeing Granny and Papaw again soon! As always, we are incredibly thankful for our families and how supportive, loving, and generous they are! Luke is one lucky little boy to be loved by so many!!
