Let Me Count The Ways

 

 L's birthday is on Tuesday!  He is turning.....older.  We'll just leave it at that.  I thought I would take this opportunity to brag about the best husband a gal could have!  We have a fun birthday planned -full of fun, food, and family!  L has requested a marble birthday cake with chocolate icing.  He requested that Luke be in charge of decorating it - to which Luke squealed.  He also requested a dinner out at a local BBQ joint - done!  We can't wait to celebrate but here is just a small and appropriately numbered (winkety wink wink) list of how we love L!!  :)

 

 

I love you because:

1. You say "I love you" more than once a day
2. You know which day is trash day
3. You are good at math
4. You play "Harry Potter" and "Karate Bunny" and "Castle" with Luke - for what feels like forever!
5. You take forever to make pancakes - I love you for this because I find it hilarious
6. You make me coffee every weekend and sometimes on Tuesdays (kind of big deal - L doesn't drink coffee)
7. You try every single new recipe that I give a whirl
8. You insist that Luke say his prayers at dinnertime
9. You notice new earrings - usually less than 1 month after I get them
10. You take Luke to do "boy stuff" - I love that I have no idea where the "mud hole" is.
11. You move over for Riggs to get in bed
12.  You sit next to me on the couch
13. You do amazing voices for Luke's bedtime stories
14. You floss in the shower
15. We still discuss politics and religion and TIME and National Geographic magazine articles.
16.  You let me watch any and all "Housewive" shows without too much ridicule
17.  You love to travel and explore and experience life  Traits that I know Luke will emulate.
18.  You like my lists  (notice I didn't say love)
19.  You make a mean ribeye
20.  You hold my hand at the mall
21.  Luke calls for you, and only you, at night.
22.  You convinced me to get a kayak
23.  You teach me the CORRECT lyrics to songs.  Sometimes, I'll admit, I choose not to listen.
24.  You still pick up Luke like a baby.
25.  You remember our "firsts." 
26.  You buy me Twizzlers every single birthday
27.  You print out this blog, have it bound, and filed because you know how important it is to me and us as a family.
28.  You teach Luke the meaning of words like aquifer, density, and menace as if he were 12 years old.
29.  You let Riggs ride with you to pick up Chinese takeout.
30.  You wear the same jeans too many times in a row but have a way of justifying it...every single time.
31. You teach and remind Luke that "girls go first"
32.  You give great hugs
33.  You dance with me in the kitchen while the chicken is baking
34.  You love Luke more than anything else in the world - you worry about him, you teach him, you are the ultimate role model.
35. You are you.  We love every bit of you and are so incredibly thankful to have you in our lives - you mean the world to us!  We love you INFINITY!
