Aunt Daney is a Rock Star

A few weeks ago Luke and I went to visit Aunt Daney (no...that is not her actual name!  ha!  Sorry to anyone whos name really is Daney!) and we we a had a great time!  We shopped, we went to a museum, we watched movies, and we played at indoor playgrounds (are they not the BEST invention?!).  It was wonderful and Aunt Daney was a superb host...she even quickly improvised when Luke asked her if she had any toys he could play with.  A great break from the daily routine and Coby, Aunt Daney's larger than life cat, was a huge hit (not surprisingly)!

After being instructed NOT to get soaked, Luke got soaked.
At this same location there was a wishing fountain and Aunt Daney instructed Luke on how to make a wish and throw in a penny.  Now every time he gets his piggy bank out he empties it and makes wishes as he puts the coins back in.  The favorite wishes right now are:  "I wish for a sunny day", "I wish that Riggs sleeps on my bed", "I wish for a treat", and "I wish Spiderman will play with me."

The Life and Science Museum.  What an awesome place!!  Luke is spending quality time with the Parasaurolophus.

I didn't realize the museum was so huge, or that most of it was outside so I didn't think to bring the stroller.  Luckily Aunt Daney was more than happy to tote Luke around.  He said, more than once, how Aunt Daney is "taller than you, Mommy."  Yes, yes she is...story of my life.  :)

The Mist Garden.  We TOTALLY need one of these in our yard!  So cool!

We had a great time!  Luke had so much fun...EXCEPT....for a 10 minute (it felt like 3 hours) VERY public tantrum that had me red in the face, sweating, and wishing we were invivsible.  It wasn't pretty!  The most public and violent tantrum ever.  What a nightmare!  He was hot, he was tired, he was a wreck.  Ugh!  Daney just stared at me and said "What do I do?"  hahaha!  Needless to say  we quickly made our exit while fellow moms gave me sympathetic stares and got in the car.  Luke was asleep in less than 5 minutes of the engine starting.
