Luke and I wanted to host our dear friend, Mallory for a day of good old fashioned three year old fun! Many thoughts crossed my mind - crafts, scavenger hunts, a morning at the pool, etc. As I was brushing my teeth one morning it came to me. Why don't I put that garden tub to use...we aren't bath people - I don't have the patience and L thinks its weird so our tub just sits there all white and sparkly and empty. Time to add some kids and a rip roarin' good time! Thus.....MESSY CAMP!
It might just have been the easiest camp session I have ever done. They were contained for nearly 2 hours straight! They sang, they danced, they got filthy and clean and filthy again. Think about it the next time it is pouring outside...or in our case...105 degrees! :)
The Tub of Fun experience started with bubbles
We got progressively messier with...GOO! I love this stuff and having it in the tub is much better than having it all over my kitchen table. Notice the chosen Messy Camp companions. :)
"WE LOVE MESSY CAMP!"
The kiddos rinsed off before having their tub snack....chocolate pudding and animal crackers! Ha! They painted pudding all over and then stuck the animal crackers to themselves before chowing down. What a riot! Luke had a stampede of various animals across his belly. Yum!
We finished our Messy Camp with colored shaving cream! This was by far the favorite and kept them entertained for a good 45 minutes. In this particular shot there were some serious tunes being belted!
Love it!
Honestly, I just stood there while they created and laughed and sang...almost relaxing for me! Although I was having a few heart palpatations about the increasing amount of blue shaving cream on the walls.
So Messy, So Fun, So Perfect!
Two VERY happy campers!!
This summer is really getting away from me! I had wanted to do "camp" with some friends, but it seems to have fallen by the wayside for all the potential campers.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love your messy camp idea! Having it in the tub is positively genius!
