I cannot believe it is mid-May already! Jeez! (that was for you, EB). Time is flying by because we have been busy busy busy. We have been kayak obsessed lately and thankfully we live about 10 minutes from a gigantic lake so we have quickly learned the art of "taking the kayak out for the morning." It is truly an artform with a nearly 3 year old, a newly 7 year old, and an odd shaped masterpiece that has to be precisely placed on top of the car as to not endanger the lives of said nearly 3 year old and newly 7 year old. :) During the week, ya know, when L has a job that unfortunately does not require kayaking, we have stayed busy with friends.
Happy Birthday Riggs! Riggs turned 7 in early May and his party was super fun! Taco night with our beloved neighbors! Riggs got handmade cards and even a few presents - extra shout out to Zeus for his thoughtfulness and creativity!!
Part of Riggs' present (in addition to peanut butter and dog bone shaped cookies) we took him to the lake to fish (and watch us kayak). Unfortunately we didn't catch anything but he was faithfully on high alert just in case we did.
Apparently this is a much better vantage point!
We love you, Riggs! You hold a very special place in our family and in our hearts!
Both are in need of some down time after rock throwing and fishing. There is nothing like a little boy and his dog! Love!
Mallory and Luke hard at work! Teamwork at its finest.
Mallory is such a good sport, she happily played with all the "boy stuff" :)
I thought Papaw might get a kick out of this one!
Another weekend, another trip to the lake. Just look at my love - his happy place! :)
Meanwhile, my other love is trying his best to scare every single fish and turtle in a 100 yard radius!
This kayak is money well spent - we love our new found family time on the water!!
