We are here! We are happy! We are exhausted! We have been in the new house not yet a week and I am very happy with what we have gotten accomplished. L has been working like a crazyman getting everything ship shape before he is back on the road. There isn't anything on the walls and we somehow forgot a lampshade in Hilton Head but there are places to sit and pans to use and glasses to drink from. :) Luke's spaces are in full working order and he seems to like it here. It certainly was not an easy transition right away and we have had many days of whining and "mommy mommy mommy" and a few meltdowns but I think we are now on the upswing and there are more smiles and laughs than whines and cries so that is such a good thing. I can't say I blame him...moving is tough no matter how you slice it and he was in a very comfortable routine and life and social circle in Florida. We are ready to wander now and have 2 playdates set up for this week so it is time to put on our friendly faces and get out and about. :) Here are just a few pictures:
Luke making personalized artwork for his new bedroom. He took great pride in exactly what colors went where.
Luke's big boy room! "There is no room at the new house for a crib" so Luke spent his first night in Sheshy's old childhood bed. He loves it! Sidenote: the mural was painted by the previous owner. They have a 2.5 year old daughter (seriously...we are like the same people...too bad they moved...we would totally be BFFs) and this was her room. The father is, get this, a professional disc golf player and moved because he got a job working for the international disc golf association. Apparently you can support a family doing that! Anyway, the monkeys are holding discs and the thing to the right of the tree is the "goal?", "net?", "basket?"..whatever. Cute, right? Luke wanted to know why they were holding frisbees instead of bananas. Ha!
