Well, Team Tully has successfully (although not without exhaustion and frustration) made it through our first sickness. Luke is now 15 months old and he had his first significant sickness so perhaps we are lucky that it has taken this long. What a long couple of days it was. But, we made it and all is again right with the world. Luke woke up from his nap last Friday with a 103 degree fever...cue new mom going into a panic...phone calls were made, washcloths were soaked, cooing and calming words were excessively repeated, and pacing ensued. My little guy is not the cuddly type, these days the only time he wants to be held is to get from point A to point B and that is only if he deems the terrain a little too risky. He usually attempts to do everything on his own and the holding days seem to be long gone. I soaked up every second of my cuddling Luke, even if it was because he was feeling awful, I smiled and I tried to bottle that feeling up. He walked around like a zombie, he didn't bother Riggs, and he wanted nothing more than to be held and given an occasional sip of water. He was feeling bad! This lasted a few days and then all of a sudden he woke up one morning like the wild little monkey we are used to. He wiped his hands of all the yucky stuff and we are off and running once again. Phew!
Sick Luke
Healthy Luke
Now THIS is the Luke I am used to!
No, he doesn't always wear a helmet, just on Thursdays. Kidding! We had just gotten back from a bike ride and when I took him off the bike he took off before I could get the helmet off! Destination? Guess.
Obviously.
