First and foremost...BIG news...Luke can roll from his back to his belly! Yes folks, he is a rolling machine. Unfortunately he cannot yet make it from his belly back to his back which creates a nervous set of parents during his sleeping hours. He loves doing it and seems very impressed with himself...we are so proud! It is kind of funny that Luke's back to belly roll was enough excitement to warrant calls to Daddy, the grandparents, aunts and uncles, as well as rushing to get the video camera...this is our life! :)
Luke and I also went on our first overnight excursion to Mia and Freddy's house! L has been traveling for work so Luke and I were going to be home alone for quite a few days - instead we decided to head north for some fresh mountain air and grandparent time. We had a wonderful time and Luke did very well sleeping someplace new...which is good because L and I do love to travel so he has got to be able to sleep in foreign places. We played, we went for mountain walks, and met some of our favorite Dville folks...we had a great time! Thanks to Mia and Freddy for having us and all of our gear...geez...something so small requires SO much stuff.
Now we are in preparations for the BIG TRIP. Team Tully is headed to HH next week. Team Tully meaning: L, K, Luke, and Riggs!! Yikes, a 12 hour drive with 2 somewhat sleep deprived parents, an 11 week old baby, and a 65 pound dog!! Yes, our sanity is in question. Please keep positive and sanity saving thoughts in your head while we make our trek south. We are so looking forward to it and I think our excitement outweighs our traveling anxiety. Luke loves the car and falls asleep quite quickly once we get moving, so I am sure he will do just fine. I will try to blog from our new southern post with some beach and pool pictures...we are hoping Luke likes the pool as much as he likes the bathtub. :)
Some photos:
Pretty soon he will be longer than the changing pad.
Our little rocker!
We are....MARSHALL! Go Thundering Herd! Today is gameday and Luke is very aware of who is favorite team will be (HAS to be according to Dad!) Thanks to Granny and Papaw for the gameday outfit!
Now a little something from just me: The other day I actually had sufficient time to put on makeup - a big step for a new mom. Anyway, with the exception of mascara (thanks to Irene's reminders to buy new stuff to avoid eye fungus) I have had 99% percent of my makeup since my wedding!! (Date of wedding = March 25th, 2006). Apparently I had never thought of this, noticed this, or cared about this but now I am thinking about it, noticing it, and caring about it. What does this say about me?
1. I am naturally so gorgeous and have the skin of a child that I do not need an ounce of makeup on this pristine face.
2. I am lazy.
3. I have been very busy and preoccupied with carrying a new life (first internally, now externally) - although this does not explain the first two years of said makeup.
4. I am more crunchy and granola-esque than I thought.
5. Most of said makeup was purchased FOR me, indicating that I do not have the slightest idea of what to buy to replace my expired stuff.
I am thinking my ancient makeup is a combination of all of the above with the exception of number 1. So, I am in the market for some new stuff and I would take suggestions but to be honest..most (not all) of my female friends are not super girly (Kate and Brianna I would put you two at the top of my girly list - Melanie (despite you being my wedding makeup artist), Jame, Tiner, Tiger, and Irene you might be at the bottom....i say all of this with love!). I am thinking that if I can find time I will sit in one of the high chairs at a department store and let the ladies wearing all black with thick lipstick paint my face and tell me what to buy. I will believe what they say because I don't know any better and because I have eye shadow (that I used on my face yesterday) dating back to my junior year in college (circa the year 2000).

Yes!!!! I made an appearance in the blog of the year!! I feel so accomplished, despite the reference being at my beautification (or lack-there-of) abilities! Hope all is well- you're always welcome to make one of your road trips to Boston.
