Before Fall arrives in all its glory I wanted to just add a few pictures and notes about the in between. The (extra)ordinary. The good stuff. Life.
I cannot tell you how many times Monopoly was played at our dining room table this summer. Countless times. It is the most hilarious thing to witness! Jed is ALWAYS the banker...whether he wants to be or not...always. Nati will go bankrupt in no time and head over to our inside mini basketball hoop for the remainder of the game. Luke and James argue constantly about what is a "good deal" and what isn't. Cooper and Bradley just go with the flow. I supply food - ya know, my usual role. :-) These boys own various versions/themes of Monopoly. I have seen them play Star Wars Monopoly, Pokemon Monopoly, Fortnite Monopoly, and one day - my favorite day - they played the old school traditional Monopoly. It was my favorite day because when they were deciding which piece to be there was a hilarious discussion about the thimble. Luke says; "I want to be the thimble" and he picked it up. Nati says "Dude, that's a trashcan. You want to be the trashcan piece?!" Luke; "It's not a trashcan, it's a thimble." Nati; "What is a thimble? That is not even a thing." Luke: "Yes it is! You use it for sewing so you don't bust up your fingers with the needle." Nati: "It's a trashcan" Jed: "No, Luke's right, it's a thimble. My grandmother has one." End of discussion. The voice of reason (Jed) has spoken and the thimble vs. trashcan discussion was over. I love these kids so much!
Luke had the opportunity to work as a counselor at a Pokemon Camp. It was so fantastic! He loved it and came home each day with lots of hilarious stories. It was so great for him to be able to give back, and to mentor kids who reminded him of himself not that long ago.
And he got to work with some of his favorite people!
When it wasn't ten thousand degrees outside we ventured downtown for a little urban hiking along the river.
When it was ten thousand degrees outside we had family movie nights
Also, when it isn't ten thousand degrees outside L and I go for long weekend runs. L is so proud of this action shot!
Year #2 on the Psychologist occupation and yes, he did wear shoes to school.
Jasper and I continue our park and woods wandering every day. He is a happy pup
I have shared very similar photos like this before but there is just something about this view that I cannot get enough of. Very grateful for beautiful off the beaten path places like this to visit daily.
Luke was tasked with an early morning dog walk recently and took this photo. I love the photo! A gorgeous sunrise! But I love even more that it captured his attention and time and appreciation to take the picture. Nature's artwork.
Team Tully is ready to welcome Fall. The temperatures aren't quite indicative of autumn yet but we will get there. Our fall calendar is already full of travel and events and wandering as we continue to do our best to live life on and with purpose. Lots of love from us to you! Happy Fall Y'all!
