Coming Up for Air

Fall.  The fall season is quite frankly the busiest of seasons.  I say that until winter is the busiest, then spring, and even summer.  They are all busy and they are all full.  What fall is not full of is pictures.  You guys, I have been TERRIBLE with taking pictures, with documenting life. I'm sorry, I'll try to do better.

 Jasper feels the fall exhaustion.
L and these fantastic fools ran an epic Ragnar team race in the Appalachian Mountains.  They had a blast and L sported the best race time of the bunch! #speedy

Pokemon Regional Tournament in Pittsburgh!  We all had a great time spending the weekend in this gorgeous city. And Luke had his best ever finish in a Pokemon tournament of this size!  He finished 32nd out of 170 players in his division!  Amazing!!!  He finished high enough for not only championship points but prizes.  So proud!

Perhaps my favorite thing about Pittsburgh.  Ha!

L and I got to wander around the city during the tournament and we loved it!  The convention center is gorgeous and the surrounding riverfront even more so.

I am always in awe of the Pokemon community. SO MANY interesting and kind people.  We are so glad that Luke has chosen this as a hobby.

Round 1.  I am always happy when Luke gets a game spot at the end of the table, much easier for stealthy photos.

Early morning Pittsburgh

I turned 44 in Pittsburgh, at a Pokemon tournament.  Ha!  L and I celebrated by going for an 8 mile run through downtown Pittsburgh and the waterfront.  8 miles because 4+4=8. And if you know me at all you know that I love a theme and I love a theme even more if it is based on numbers. Ha!  So we ran for 8 miles along all three rivers, past the Steelers stadium, the Pirates stadium, and downtown.  Some urban miles, some waterfront miles, and many bridge miles.  It was a fantastic start to my 44th bday!

And a birthday beer with lunch!

A late end to a GREAT day!  Go Luke!!!

This kid - celebrating his win with Pokemon and birthday pizza in a hotel bed.  Does it get any better than that?!

We made a quick trip to HH to see Ima and Shesh and as always had the BEST time!  We were only there for a short visit but we managed to fit in all of our HH favorites, including a fishing adventure, complete with a rainbow.

Basketball.  Constantly.  I think we have been to every park, school, and neighborhood basketball court in a 15 mile radius in the last two months.  Luke cannot get enough and to be honest, L and I love it just as much.

Also, L turned 46 with  monkey cake for breakfast and burgers for dinner!  Our birthdays are not full of fanfare or even gifts but they are full of love and the simple things that bring us the most joy.  Happy Birthdays to us!

I took this one just today as I was thinking about making sure to get a blog up.  A simple neighborhood sunrise.  Simple and Beautiful and Enough.

Happy Fall Y'all
