Early Summertime

Just a super quick update on life before we continue with our summer adventures.  The biggest news is that we now have a 14 year old in the house!  14!

Ever since L got back our house has become 'gear central'.  He has organized and tested and cataloged countless gear items.  He and I spent a Saturday morning putting up and taking down around 8 camp showers to make sure there was no rips/tears/zipper malfunctions/etc.  Our front yard looked like a makeshift locker room and not a single neighbor walking by said a thing...I'm sure it looked completely normal for Tully family activities.  : -)

Luke and L went to WV for a lovely summertime visit and an early birthday celebration.  Lucky kid!

Last year was the summer of fishing and this summer it is far and away the summer of basketball!  Basketball all day every day.

Just last night Luke got home at 9:45pm after playing three games of basketball to 100 (!!) with the neighborhood gang.  Crazy!

Luke turned 14 with a quintessential Luke approved day! A sprinkled donut and family gifts in the morning.  Friends were at the front door at 9AM.  Basketball for a few hours.  Then to the pool all afternoon where a pizza lunch was delivered.  Post-pool video games, biking to the creek, and basketball with friends.  Family sushi dinner and root beer floats (Luke is not a big cake kid).  Friends back over for a sleepover.  A fantastically simple and perfect birthday for our guy.  We love him so!

A birthday family photo. (note to self, have one of Luke's friends take photos for us because Luke will almost always smile)

In other big news I got a new job!  I am super excited!  But this job requires me to look  professional.  Yikes!  Because I have never in my life been stylish or loved to shop I enlisted help.  My dear sweet friend LR came through with generosity, love, and the most gorgeous clothes she passed along to me!  18 lbs of beautiful and professional clothes arrived at my door and she was the ultimate hype woman from hundreds of miles away for my bathroom selfie fashion show.  I have increased my wardrobe x 5 (not an exaggeration).

I went Bright for an afternoon of Broadway!  I saw Dear Evan Hansen and I absolutely LOVED it!

#YouWillBeFound

Did I wake up my entire family to come see this early morning cloud masterpiece?!  You bet I did!  I think these 'awe moments' are the lifeblood of a life well lived.  Nature's artwork is worth it...always.  15 minutes later these clouds gave us some epic downpours and thunder and lightening.

Our summertime adventures continue and to use one of my very favorite salutations...

Onward....
