The Holiday Season 2019

Now that the holiday season is over and life has returned to somewhat of a routine I can back track allllll the way to November to give you the Tully Holiday Highlights!

One of my favorite traditions - our annual 4 mile race through the Christmas lights at a local park.  All three of us beat our 2018 times!

Luke was down for the count with a nasty nasty ear infection.  :-(  Jasper is an excellent nurse!

Sweet Luke rallied just in time for our trip to WV for Thanksgiving/Tully Christmas!  We made very important outcrop stops along the interstate this year for rock samples and photos...I hope L's students appreciate his efforts/craziness!
Thank you small town Pennsylvania for your archery portion of PE class, turns out I still have some serious archery skills!

Luke's preferred weapon
A sweet WV Christmas!  Love!

Granny and Papaw are always so generous with gifts!  We had a great time!

They got us this super hilarious and stress-inducing game...we had so much fun playing and waiting for the screams!
Riding a little kid tricycle down the hill.  Hours of fun!

Home to get this year's tree.  It was the last one on the lot and kind of pitiful but we loved it even more because of that!

Tree decorating

Every year Granny and Papaw get us a gingerbread house kit and it is definitely one of our favorite gifts!  Such good old fashioned family fun!

Gingerbread selfie fueled by candy

Then.....just a few days before Christmas Luke cashed in on his BIG Christmas gift.....a CRUISE!  With his BFF!!!  The boys were super excited and counting down the days!  Off we went on a Caribbean adventure for 3 days!  So.  Much.  Fun.  The weather was slightly less than ideal (very windy and slightly chilly) but we all made the best of it and had a fantastic time!  L and I loved watching the boys wander and explore and be kids....certainly a gift to us too!

This guy!!!

2 giant waterslides on the ship!  The kids rode them at least 20 times.  I rode each one once because I thought it was freeeeeezing!

Cruise ship holiday goodness
Just one of MANY selfies taken for the Selfie Scavenger Hunt....which we WON!!!!
The kiddos and their home away from home
Isn't she grand?!

Yours truly wanted no part of this but L and the kids LOVED it!  Virtual Reality bungee/trampoline jumping on the ship.  Crazy!  It got rave reviews!

My favorite little cruisers!

Me and my guy....livin' the cruise life
We had an awesome day on this island..even if I kept my long sleever on allllll day!  Windy but beautiful

Their "favorite" ("favorite" meaning creepiest) artwork on the boat.  Also, look how nice they clean up!.......

.....When in reality this is what they are really like!  HA!!!

See....cold!

Brave Boys in the ocean!
We had a fantastic time and the kids really appreciated and enjoyed their shared experience...they still talk about it!

Home for a neighborhood gang gift exchange :-)

Christmas morning!!

I love us!

Monkey Cake - a delicious Christmas tradition!

A few days after Christmas we headed west to celebrate with my side of the family.  D and J and little E graciously offered to host again this year it was wonderful to all be together!  The kids had a fantastic time and we are so grateful for such loving families!

Playtime!

Luke and Evelyn....fast friends!
The cousins!
Jeffrey - 11
Luke - 10
Hallie - 9
Evelyn - 11 months

Cousin breakfast

Kayaking time for the kids!

L getting a guitar lesson from Hallie!  She taught him how to play Jingle Bells

Ima and Luke and their never ending Uno battles :-)

Maddie and Lando are exhausted from all of the activity!

Luke and Jeffrey got the insane idea to jump in the lake....I think they were shocked when I told them they could.  BRRRRRRR!

Fishing prep!
We loved our time with the family and I know my dad has some family photos that I will hopefully get up here at some point....despite all these kid pictures there were adults present as well!

Home again to make our way into the New Year and all the opportunities and experiences it has waiting for us! As always we resolve to be present, purposeful, and grateful.  Happy New Year!!
