ALASKA - Through Sheshy's Lens

Sheshy has a camera other than an iPhone so these beauties are thanks to him!  Again there were SO many great ones but I picked out a few (okay, a lot) of my favorites!  Alaska, Round 2:

Pike Place Market, Seattle
One of my favorite spots...the sights, the smells, the sounds.  It is overload for the senses but such a beautiful place.

Speaking of overload for the senses...Luke's chosen spot on the gum wall.  Gross but Awesome

Flossing.  There was A LOT of flossing.  Anywhere, Anytime.

Again, real grass on a cruise ship.  As you can see Molly and I are discussing how amazed we are by this. :-)

Traveling through the Tracy Arm Fjord

Water like glass with floating icebergs.  Just so much beauty!!

Glacial evidence in every direction.  A geologist's dream!

Look how close we are!  Amazing!! The color blue of the ice blew my mind.  Natures color wheel...a beautiful thing

Mid 360 degree turn.  I think we did two of these "donuts".  The captain was fantastic!

Mendenhall Glacier, outside of Juneau, AK

Here we all are on a bright sunshiney Alaska day!

The kiddos

This is one of my favorites because there was a lot of "Where's L?"  And when we found him this is usually what he was doing.  Taking it all in.  Being present.  Being in awe.  Love him!

It's my new screensaver.  I may just keep it forever.  I love us.

Gosh, these guys are the BEST!  Love this family!

Alaska, Summer 2018.  So glad to share it with these people.  Love

Victoria for the evening!

There she is!  Our home away from home!  A beauty

Parliament in Victoria, BC

One of many lounges and hangout areas.  We almost won trivia here a few times!

Ima came up with a great idea.  We had a table of 5 and a table of 4.  The kids were always at the table for 5 and the pairs of adults just rotated.  It worked out perfectly!

Hot tub boys!

Adorable!

Ima crafting her masterpiece

A shoreline and rocks.  ENDLESS entertainment, not to mention the gorgeous glacier behind them.  Ha!

Choo Choo!  The train ride of a lifetime!

This little lady would dance ALL night if she could!

Beautiful!

Luke was Sheshy's partner in one of the scavenger hunts.  They had to photograph the kid acting like an adult.  This was the obvious choice for Shesh.  Hilarious!

Many hours spent in these heated pools!

Fancy Dinner night

Me and the little Miss!  She had our waiter wrapped around her finger!

Me and my birthday boy!

Mit and his moves.

Shesh had a great angle to capture the paper airplane competition

The crew making our way into Victoria

A beautiful evening on our last night of our adventure!

It really was the trip of a lifetime and we are SO grateful!  In addition to all of these beautiful places and beautiful people we also saw beautiful wildlife!  The wildlife viewing topped Luke's list of favorites.  We saw harbor seals, jellyfish, bald eagles (TONS of bald eagles), Dall porpoises, black bear, orca, and humpback whales.  The whale sightings were breathtaking and powerful.  It was truly amazing to watch them surface, watch them flick their tails, and a few of us were lucky enough to even see them breach.  The wildlife was thrilling and cool and beautiful.

As always when we travel we came away with more perspective, more humility, more awareness, more tolerance, more insight, more knowledge, more appreciation, more love, and more gratitude than when we left.  This is why we travel.  This is why it is important to us.  We are but tiny pieces in the great big world puzzle and we do firmly believe that IT IS possible for all the pieces to fit nicely together to make a beautiful and peaceful global masterpiece.
