The Holiday Season 2015

Perhaps the most pictures for one post but our holiday season was unique this year.  No trips out of the country, no set plans....just enjoying our home, our family, our friends, and the simple things.  We had a fantastic holiday season and we enjoyed our downtime so very much!

 Friday night playdate.  Headlamps essential.

After school with Lady Lilly.

Luke and Mommy date night at the zoo!

Tully Train Christmas Ride!  So fun and a new tradition!  Jammies, a cozy-ed up "train", and an evening trip around the neighborhood to see the lights.

Back to the train station for Christmas science experiments and hot chocolate and cookies.  Awesome!

A small town Christmas Parade

Bike riding along the river...still so much flood damage...amazing.

Gingerbread house goodness!! Ha!

 So proud of our masterpiece!

Garage projects.  This was the first year that Luke has come up with his own gifts for L and I.  He used his own money to buy L some floss and a reese's peanut butter cup.  He made me an ornament and bought me a Hershey bar.  Best gifts ever!!!

Star Wars: The Force Awakens for the boys

A Christmas Party with friends and....

this guy!!  This is the closest Luke has EVER been to Santa.  Ha!  He wasn't impressed.

Our very favorite coastal family came to visit!  Love these faces!

Chloe and Luke the reindeer and Lily as Santa!  It was a great production!

Kid's museum with the dynamic duo!  These boys had so much fun and it gave me some quality time with my dear friend!  Win-win!

A tornado warning!!!  Yikes!  Luke and I did the obvious...had cookies in the closet while waiting it out.

All set!

I know I mentioned this last Christmas but I absolutely love our Christmas mornings.  It is so quiet, so peaceful, so simple.  We just truly  ENJOY being together and taking our sweet old time.  We are blessed!

Our favorite "slacker" on his very own slackline!
(also, this is Christmas Day - shorts and a t-shirt - ridiculous!)

Christmas at Daney's!  Ima and Sheshy hosting a round of coastal bingo!

2nd annual Kid's Chopped Competition!

I was in charge of activities so in addition to Chopped I found some hilarious "Minute to Win It" games to play and a classic concept ... Pin the Nose on the Snowman!

"Snowball Toss" - try to get 10 marshmallows through the wreath in one minute.  Everyone was successful but I would be reprimanded if I didn't mention that Sheshy was the big winner!!

 Cousins :-)

Nothing like being serenaded after dinner by these three musicians.

The newest member of the family is that four-legged cutie!  Charles Darwin (call me Charlie) the beagle.  Such a sweet pup!!

Our personal chef - James, not L!!  We had the most delicious prime rib dinner!  Truly the best I've ever had.

The kids kept saying the this wasn't really Christmas because it was actually days later so Ima and Sheshy taught them the value and hilarity of air quotes!  In this photo they are saying "Merry Christmas!"

"Face the Cookie" - another minute to win it game.  try to get the cookie from your forehead to your mouth just using your facial muscles.  Hilarious!

These two brainiacs stopped talking rocks long enough to figure out a traffic jam

Maybe my favorite picture...Cheers! Cousin Happy Hour!  Love these three so very very much!!  Certainly the highlight of our holidays!

A day spent with these kids.  Still warm enough for shorts and apparently shirts are optional!  :-)

Settling down and reading about the Loch Ness Monster.

We rounded out our year in HH, visiting with old and cherished friends (and Ima and Sheshy), and doing some fishing!  Perfection!

A GIANT redfish for L!

Happy New Year from our family to yours!
