Sweet Riggs wandered his furry self into our room around 5:30 this morning. His wet nose graced my arm and for some reason he was ready to start his day and be let outside. I got up to do so and I am sure the opening and closing of the deck doors woke my very, VERY light sleeper. (Poor Luke got that not so great trait from yours truly.). Anyway, more footsteps found their way to our room and Luke wedged himself between L and I. I stayed silent and still for a few minutes until I knew both of them were back to sleep. I got up, let Riggs inside and he joined the other boys to slumber. All three of my guys sleeping soundly. :) I made myself some coffee and took it into Luke's empty bedroom. To me his room is on the small side, to him it is still a palace. I sat down on my four year old's bed and thought about today, the first day of Pre-K. And you know what my first thought was...thank God it is not the first day of Kindergarten! I still get to pick up my son at noon each day, I still get to spend every afternoon with my absolute favorite person. We still get to watch a movie at 2 pm if we want to. We still get to go to the zoo and be home before the evening traffic. I still have a guaranteed lunch date each day and it is never strange to have peanut butter sandwiches in the shape of dinosaurs. Thank God it is not the first day of Kindergarten. I sat and sipped my coffee in a dark bedroom and cried a little...not a lot....this is not my first go around and I know now that sending Luke to preschool is such a wonderful thing that I am so grateful to be able to do. Because Luke is an only child I take on quite a few personas each day...Leilani, Peggy, Mystique, Leonardo, Rafael, (I never seem to be anointed Donatello or Michael Angelo), Batgirl, etc. Therefore, I am thankful for the time to just be Kim. There were no tears at dropoff (from either of us). I miss him already but I am missing him and smiling. Today is a good day!

First Day of Pre-K!
I know I have still have summer things to talk about but first things first! Today is Luke's first day of Pre-K! Can you believe it? The bigger question is...can I believe it?! No. Today had such a very perfect start:
