I added 2011 to the title of this post because I am positively certain there will be more trips in store for this crew. My Florida besties and I boarded a cruise ship in early December for a 3 day getaway on the open ocean with a brief stop in the Bahamas. To be honest we could have been holed up in some local hotel and still have had an amazing time but the poolside deck and buckets of beer sure didn't hurt anything. How nice it was to get away with the girls and chat and laugh and just relax! We all commented on how we missed our children and our husbands BUT we also commented on how nice it was to eat slowly, get only ourselves ready in the morning, and be able to sleep until 8am. 8am!!! Can you imagine?! It was blissful. The weather was great, albeit windy, and we just smiled, and laughed, and danced our hineys off. So much fun! As I have mentioned before...having friends as a mother takes on a whole new meaning and I am so incredibly thankful to have these women in my life!
Riding in style! 5 moms on a road trip - the minivan is the ONLY way to go!
At the port...there is no turning back! LR is more than ready!! (from left to right: AC, JC, LR, and JG)
I am so proud of the packing (especially from a certain someone...AC!). Mine of course is the backpack. :)
Blue skies, blue water, plenty of lounge chairs = smiles galore!
The cruise crew! Love these girls!
Round One.
Not a kid in sight!
Winners of the 80's music quiz! We tied with this guy! Not gonna lie...most of the credit goes to JG...she is a bottomless pit of music knowledge. Yours truly (not shockingly) was NO help whatsoever!
Strolling the straw market
The straw market is usually held in an open air/indoor market but they had had a fire just house before we arrived. So sad!
The quintessential Nassua lighthouse.
